Moderator's Report

The Eagle proved a popular choice of car. Congratulations to Leon for his first with GPL, starting from pole. Greg slight spoiled his day by taking fastest lap in the Lotus. There were no reported incidents.

Season 36 1967F1 – Round 6 –  Spa67- Seniors

Season 36 is a joint series between GPL Brazil and UKGPL. This post is for the Senior division.
We’re into the second half of the season. This race will be at the Spa-Francorchamps track in Belgium, famous for incredibly high speeds, variable weather & being simply dangerous. I have a vivid memory of a rainsoaked GP in 1998 when Michael Schumacher went storming down the pit lane absolutely furious with David Coulthard. The start was one of the worst crash fests I have ever seen in F1, eventually won by Damon Hill in the Jordan. Funnily enough the first GPL race I entered at Spa started with a huge pile up into Eau Rouge. Just shows that we like to keep things real.
Just to say that we will be using the beautifully remodelled Spa 67 version, not the Papyrus original.

Server = GPL Brazil
IP = to be announced
Race date = Sunday 29 March 2020
Time = starts no later than 21.00 UK time (please check daylight savings changes at this time of year)
Track = Link
Race length = 14 Laps (50 minutes)
Variant = 1967
60fps patch used 60fpsV2newmod
Damage Model = Pro
Qualifying time = 30-45 minutes
Replay = here

The Seniors championship has Pro damage model, with no resets.
This season, races are to be run at 60 frames per second – please use the 60 fps patch
Driver lists and divisional rules, including rules for car selection can be found on the Championship Standings page

There is no Red Zone. Moderating will be on reported incidents only. Remember that lap 1 incidents carry an additional penalty place.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

Congrats Leon and Tim!

That was a nice drive Leon. I tried my best to drive fast enough to get you to make a mistake. I had to slow down after 6 laps or I or the car would have broke. Smiley

The Lotus performed well. I always get screen freezes at Spa67 with the Eagle so I drive the Lotus now. I was a little surprised by my speed. I guess I was inspired and riled to defend my previous lap record. I was more surprised by how slow Tim was. I thought he was the one to beat going into the event. Leon, you ruined my best chance to get a win this season.

It's a shame Jonny missed this one. I wouldn't have been surprised if he finished ahead of me.

Thanks for the fun guys.

Thanks, Greg. Great event. Smiley

In practice, Cookie told me through Team Speak that you were the king of spa.
And then when your 3:17 lap time came out, I just couldn't watch that and still got those four tenths out of the Eagle. Grin

Looking forward to next time. punk
