Moderator's Report

Unsurprising the Eagle was a popular choice of car at Spa. Axel has a reputation as the 'Spa '67 meister', so no surprise that he won form pole position. Andreas brought the lone Lotus home second with Ricardo 3rd in another Eagle.

David Sochenna resets the car but does not perform a Stop & Go within two laps. This should incur a time penalty but David did not complete enough laps to score points.

Season 36 1967F1 – Round 6 –  Spa 67- Juniors

Season 36 is a joint series between GPL Brazil and UKGPL. This post is for the Junior division.
We’re into the second half of the season. This race will be at the Spa-Francorchamps track in Belgium, famous for incredibly high speeds, variable weather & being simply dangerous. I have a vivid memory of a rainsoaked GP in 1998 when Michael Schumacher went storming down the pit lane absolutely furious with David Coulthard. The start was one of the worst crash fests I have ever seen in F1, eventually won by Damon Hill in the Jordan. Funnily enough the first GPL race I entered at Spa started with a huge pile up into Eau Rouge. Just shows that we like to keep things real.
Just to say that we will be using the beautifully remodelled Spa 67 version, not the Papyrus original.

Server = UKGPL10
IP = 217.155.118.41
Race date = Sunday 29 March 2020
Time = starts no later than 21.00 UK time.
Track = Link
Race length = 14 Laps (50 minutes)
Variant = 1967
60fps patch used 60fpsV2newmod
Damage Model = Intermediate
Qualifying time = 30-45 minutes
Replay = here

The Juniors championship has Intermediate damage model. Every driver is permitted one reset. Each reset (irrespective of fault) must be followed by a Stop & Go in the pit lane within two laps of the incident. If a reset is required on the last lap a time penalty will be added. Failure to take a Stop & Go will result in a time penalty. Any driver taking a more than one Reset will be disqualified..
This season, races are to be run at 60 frames per second – please use the 60 fps patch

Driver lists and divisional rules including rules on car selection can be found on the Championship Standings page

There is no Red Zone. Moderating will be on reported incidents only. Remember that lap 1 incidents carry an additional penalty place.

Well, that was disappointing. With a PB in qualifying I was 5th on the grid and feeling pretty much at peace with this homicidal track. At the end of L2 I mistakenly downshifted into neutral approaching the hairpin. That didn't work, of course, and I ended up face first into the wall. The cars closely trailing me easily shot by, but then I was hit by another car that had, I think, in turn been hit. I then screwed up a pass on the long straight to Masta, causing a reset and SNG. That put me last. I finished 7th, thanks to Dave and Billy making more mistakes in the last ten or twelve laps than I did.

Back to isolation . . .

I was having a brilliant race until the end of lap 12. On the exit of the second to last corner I put a wheel in the kerb and it spun me off and into the trees. A small mistake but this track is a killer. I needed a shift-R and S&G which dropped me 3 places from 3rd to 6th with no time left to catch up.

Grats to Axel and Andreas, they were a different class tonight. Good clean close racing with Billy, Eric and Ricardo. I had to push hard to try to keep Ricardo behind after he made a tiny mistake that let me through. Too hard as it turned out.  Sad

Thanks Dave

Lonely race until I had to lap Paul who had a panic reaction that made us both spin, luckily no harm was done and I could finish without problems.

@Paul
please just drive your line when you are going to be lapped, do not try to jump out of the way, it's less problematic for me to wait a second and make a save pass.

Is not the first time that happen this thing but one today and one yesterday seem too much.
After,i thoght,is obvious that the game trow away me out.To restart i must shut down the steering W.and in this way also Fairshift go in trouble,so there was no way to retrive the situation.
The only fortune,until now, is to stay out from corona.
