GT2 Fun Race

Practice: 20:00 (30 mins)
Qual: 20:30 (15 mins)
Race: 20:45 (30mins)

Cars allowed: GTR2

Time of Day Setting: 13:00
Weather: Dry

Start: Rolling start
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit-stops: none required

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the relevant Track Packs for this series
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.
(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.
(6) Start procedure
*It will be the pole sitter's responsibility to complete the first lap at a pace that allows the rest of the grid to follow comfortably
*There should be no overtaking or hard accelerating/braking
*Drivers should avoid getting too far behind or too close to the driver in front
*Approximately 20 seconds before crossing the start line the pole sitter should slow down to a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*Each following driver shall close up directly behind the driver in front also maintaining a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*The pole sitter should maintain that speed until they cross the start line and then accelerate away to start the race (lap2)
*Each following driver should only accelerate when the driver directly ahead does (they do not have to wait until crossing the start line)
*No overtaking is allowed before crossing the start line at the completion of the formation lap

Well that was fun  Grin Sorry for the tap into T1 Frex  Embarrassed
cold tyres perhaps. Or just lack of skill. Other than that was a good romp
What happened at the end Geoff?

GT2's + Spa = awesome

that was an exciting race, lots of close battles, especially towards the end when everyones tyres started to go off!

shame about the low turnout, with the country in lockdown I was hoping we would get a couple of extra people on the grid  Sad

Has anyone got any suggestions about where to advertise these races (and the AC & ACC races). we are not getting any new blood at all these days

I tried on the discord forum, but got no interest. 5000+ members apparently, you'd think someone would have picked it up
Perhaps I was in the wrong place. Was not easy to see the best place to post league stuff.

What happened at the end Geoff?

Ran wide into the gravel at Stavelot & then it took an age to clean the tyres, lost my rhythm & messed up the chicane & finally braked far too late for La Source & ran wide there. Still was good fun race & the Corvette was really nice to drive here. Oh sorry for the bump at the start Matt, forgot it was rolling start. Roll Eyes

I have been advertising all our RRE races, both Thursday & Sunday at Sector3 forums (although I must admit I forgot this one), but we just have not had any interest at all. But I will continue with it.

Thanks Geoff, didn't realise you had been advertising the Sunday night races. I have been putting posts and video clips on the SROUK facebook  page recently. We have got a few followers and likes but none of these people have actually turned up for any races

So did I; or rather I did actually check the race post, but then could have sworn it said standing start..?! Anyway, after hairing off at the beginning it was clear that only Matt was following, so I abandoned that and did a (fastish) pace lap instead. Sorry for any confusion!

No worries for the tap Matt, I was poor into T1 all race, and probably a bit too slow there. had another spin there too a few laps later. Otherwise, great race and lots of fun. It was only on the last lap or so that we all got a bit more spread out. Unlucky for running wide at the end Geoff.

Thanks to all.
