Ruskus, you run with autoclutch off don't you? Thus no auto-lift? When I ride on board with other folks during practice and qually sessions I here the engine bouncing off the limiter a lot during upshifts and I can't believe that doesn't contribute to an increased failure rate...

In real life alot of drivers don't lift off. And I've finished enough races with manual clutch. I just can't imagine how an engine can die, halfway down the first lap. That's just a bug, end of story, which is one of the many GTR problems.

They do in endurance racing unless they have a system on the ECU to cut the throttle during shifts.

And I've finished enough races with manual clutch. I just can't imagine how an engine can die, halfway down the first lap. That's just a bug, end of story, which is one of the many GTR problems.

I just don't buy it I'm afraid. Something about your driving style or setup must be causing it - if it were a bug, lots of other people would be suffering it.

I lowered my rev limiter 200 revs down. I opened my radiator up to 3. The warmup lap was done at 100km/h in 3rd gear. How on earth, can any engine die after 30 seconds, while it didn't even get stressed. I was still driving very slowly, trying not to crash off in lap 1.

Anyhow, it sucks.

Well what a mare, lol.

Bloody wheel failed on the form lap, didnt fancy doing a wet race with no ffb so picked a safe place to pull over and unplugged the wheel.  Unfortunatly the place I picked turned out not to be that safe after all with a driver weaving all over the track behind me ! Oh well.
Got the wheel sorted and rejoined the race, only 30 secs or so down.
Then in my haste to catch up with the leader I messed up a corner, went sideways across the track and got T-bonned, which flipped me over and saved me from going into the wall.
The car was a complete pig after that, steering was all over the place, great fun on a wet track, not.
Anyway finished 2nd in the end.

Yeah I used to use manual clutch and it does increase temps hence less reliability as you say, add that to the fact that the Lister Engine is pretty weak in my experience of GTR as its the only car engine Ive had let go. I think its known to be weak but cant remember why.

Did you change down slightly early into turn 2?
I thought it was your internet problems again when you left.

I happened after turn 2. I was low in 2nd when I floored, it then squeeled like a pig and died.

After he`d sent his heavies to sort out Truetom, perhaps Mark sent his mechanical assassins into your garage to do the dirty there also!

Cheers
