Moderator's Report

Dominant win by Cookie in the Lotus, 2nd spot claimed by the steadily improving Pepe & 3rd place went to Dave Curtis in the Ferrari.
The replay keeps crashing to desktop so I will trust that the six drivers who took a reset did complete their Stop & Go penalty.

no good for me tonight...    had a freeze when I first joined.  Undecided

rebooted PC. luckily got back on with minutes to spare, but I just could not seem to settle down for the race.   Embarrassed

Is it just me or is this track like an ice rink ??  missed the intial scuffle, but was unable to get a decent feel with the car.  previous practice wasnt good.
not sure I like this track,  only a personal view as I have raced here in the past and enjoyed it.

my setup for some reason had really short gears.. didnt notice that previously.

took a couple of offs, and a spin or two.... and that was just in the first couple of laps.  slid off the track into the wall just after the pits..

thats when I realised I was " The Pits"  LOL,  so called it a night.  I felt as though I was going to cause problems and spoil everyone elses race so I happily left the track.

hope everyone else fared well and the server was stable etc,etc..  now must promise to get more practice for the next races.. laugh

Cheers All. stay safe.

Bad luck Paul.
I didn't have a good race either. This is the first race in the 67 since reinstalling GPL. The game didn't recognise the clutch so I jumped started. I did pull into the pits & to stop but got kicked out waiting for my pitboard to move. Can't remember the exact protocol for this. STUPID GAME.

Bad luck mate..   you were doing great in praccy.

I think we only have to do a stop n go.  if you are using the GPL pit option offline I think you have to wait until it dissappears. ?? not sure.

I did though watch a little of what was happening on Igor after i left the race.  I noticed that Ricardo is listed twice ??

first he was car no2 & 5,   now hes showing as car no2 & 4 ??     Im also still listed.   thought I would mention this incase we have another mass disco.

ah well...  better luck next time eh mate?

but even with all its problems.. its still the "Dogs Danglies" of sims LOL.

Good battle with Phil that now he has become my enemy laugh. At the last lap again problem with my steeringwheel that want to go at left.
This time i resisted to this force and i was able to finish a not bad race for me.
P.S How many pilots use the H gear box and the clutch? What mean for some pilots the negative number under PP?

No grip for me either. Not sure if it was my setup (didn't have one so just used the default with more negative front toe in and 45 power side on diff) or my bad throttle control but I couldn't get the power down on the exit of the big corners.

Had a good battle with Fran until I made a mistake and dropped back.  Then another good fight with Andreas but it was more a comedy of errors than a master class in overtaking!!  Roll Eyes

Third on the grid, and third during the race before Pepe had a problem and made a Stop and Go.
But he was faster than me and I was 3rd again until the last lap when Dave Curtis overtook me.

2 laps to the end, I lost any possibility to shift down and drove the 2 last laps with the 5th gear only.

Since one week, I have this issue with my steering wheel (Logitech G25), only with the button "shift down"
I have no idea what is the reason and how to correct it  Huh

On this track the tyres dont get realy warm that's why you think it's slippery, after 2-3 laps you can accelerate  Wink
Moving the brake bias to the front helps to get more heat in front tyres.
I just like it Grin

@ David
it's a common switch in the wheel, easy to change, get in in the net! no prob if you can solder Wink

Anyway seem to me that the Honda have no speed on the straight, any car was more fast. I don't know if i have wrong gear setup or is the car.Next time i must use the BRM but i hope to not have the usual problem of the lack of the last gear.

I started to have similar trouble with my G25 H Shifter but it was intermittent. I suspected it was dust in the microswitches. I think that can probably be cured with some contact cleaner but I decided to buy a new shifter instead. The Thrustmaster TH8A I have now uses Hall Effect switches so dust should never be a problem for it.

When I was fighting with Andreas, his Honda was faster down the straight. Not sure if it was his setup or more likely he was getting a better exit out of the corner onto the straight. I suggest you check his corner exit speed on the server replay and see how yours compares.

You finished ahead of both of us, so you were not slow overall!   Wink

David, sorry to hear about the wheel problems. but as Axel mentioned. lots of stuff online.

such as

http://www.fihsf1.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4614

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXxpPv-Bzdo

If the wheel is otherwise good then its worth fixing.   I use a G27 at present because I have owned it for years and not used it, but my trusty G25 is still on the shelf if needed.

after all the years of use its lovely and smooth. also is compatible with more early games. I love my G25.

Cheers, Paul
