Hmm, sorry to see some of the negative comments here, I was hoping we would all be on the same page but clearly not. The Touring Classics are all fantastic for me, and the same goes for the F Junior - I'm sorry to hear that is not the case for some (all??) of you. It almost sounds like I am in a different game, and does make me wonder whether there is some magical combination of hardware settings that I have stumbled upon which no-one else is experiencing.. I hope not, and I hope it can be improved for everyone.
No wish to state the obvious as everyone here is well experienced in sim (and some real) racing, but here are a few random thoughts which may (or may not) help:
The TCs now have (obviously) very much changed physics, including much reduced grip and longer braking distances, supposedly the better to simulate the (I think) crossplies they were shod with at the time. Reduced grip yes, but at no time does it feel exaggerated or like driving on ice to me. It feels very progressive and natural quite frankly. I do however struggle to match the fastest AI times like I used to do, but I'm not sure if that's because the new AI also need tweaking, or because I'm just not pushing enough..
The tyres used to be pre-warmed on the old physics but now they are stone cold when you first go out on track, so obviously it needs a lap (or three) to truly judge what you've got under you. I also think it's worth tuning the tyre pressures to get the best out of these crossplies, which is easy to do, takes a few minutes only, and worthwhile even for those who do not normally tinker with the setup. Easy to find how to do that, but I can do a quick guide (or link to one) if anyone wants it.
The cars seem to be fairly well matched, but the Volvo is the only one with traction control, which can be tuned in the normal way in the setup and on track. This makes it a bit easier to drive than the others imho. The Porsche 964 seems about a second slower around here for me after a very brief test, but is a MUCH easier car to drive. So it might be worth including it in the series for those that really can't get on with the Tourers. Or we change to something else and not do them at all, it's all fine with me. Same goes for the F Junior - that one just feels so right for me even straight out of the box, but happy to abandon it for something else if that's the consensus.
We could do the Group 4s instead..
