David Sochenna is being chased by a recovering Ricardo, with Fran close behind. The incident is at Tamburelo, which is tricky high speed corner. Sochenna is a lap down. Having read the reports it appears Sochenna moved to the right to allow Ricardo past & then resumed his line. Fran expect a lapped car to give room but ran into Sochenna as he moved back to the centre. It is the responsibility of the lapping car to pass safely & Fran could have approached with more caution. On balance this is more of a misunderstanding - Racing Incident.

On his outlap after his Stop & Go Fran is clipped on the exit to Tosca by Luiz Covisi. From Luiz's seat it looks like there might just be enough room to squeeze past on the inside & the contact is the collision boxes.

That was a hard race. Made even more difficult by having to start from the pit lane after I mistimed my normal "comfort break" and missed the start! Some great racing with the two Davids and Francesco. Grats to Billy he was miles ahead today, I got within 15 seconds of you but then I pushed to hard and made too many mistakes which dropped me all the way to the back  Sad

it was a shame to touch Eric at first, then I recovered, it was a fantastic race. Congratulations to Eric and the podium.

I qualified fourth with a personal best in the Lotus, then watched in horror as Ricardo and Eric flew off the track after contact at the start of the long straight on L1. That put me second behind Axel, who immediately began to disappear at the rate of two to three seconds per lap. Behind me was an equally eager Andreas, but I held him off with the usual Lotus pull, until I remembered I was probably holding up the guy who was leading the Junior section of the league to date. By the time I decided I ought to stop blocking him, Eric suddenly appeared in my mirrors.

I couldn't believe it. How could a guy who looked as if he'd been dropped nearly to last place 20 seconds into the race be behind me in just six laps? Well, I figured his pole time hadn't been merely an accident, so I let him by as we came out of the last hairpin. Andreas hadn't gotten any slower either, so I let him by in the same place as we were finishing up L7. But relief for poor Pepe was not to be, for within seconds here was Ricardo climbing all over my tail. Again I tried to let him by in the same place as I'd given way to Eric and Andreas, but inadvertently slid over into the racing line. Ricardo rear-ended me, sending us both off into the weeds and dropping me down into 9th place overall. Maybe that would be the end of my miseries. I'd never belonged in that elevated company anyway.

But my woes were not yet done. Dave Curtis, behind me as we came screaming downhill to the right-hander before the second hairpin, misjudged where my rather conservative brake point was, rear-ended me, left wheels from both cars rolling around in random directions, and sent both of us to the reset switch with the usual stop-and-go. Now I was in 10th place with 20 laps remaining. Oh, how the mighty had fallen!

Suddenly a kind of peace overcame me. I cannot account for it. This track has been an extraordinarily difficult learning experience for me. I never did figure how to go into the high speed left bend on the front straight. The down-shifting method to both hairpins was yet another enigma. The hump at the top of the hill after Hairpin #1 was always a butt-clenching moment, as was trying to avoid drifting into the grass at the downhill left bend under acceleration that quickly follows. Indeed, there's hardly a corner at the entire track that doesn't ask you, "You think you know how to handle me, big boy?" And I answer, "Sorry, but I don't have a clue." Still, I somehow managed to find a separate peace with Imola as I lay third from the bottom, gradually working my way back up to fifth (where I should have started anyway but for Andreas' uncharacteristically bad qualifying time). I saw Billy, in fourth, was 33 seconds in front of me with 18 laps to go, and I managed to eat away more than half of that gap at one point. So I leave Italy in better shape than Senna and with some fond memories as well.

My race has been ruined by an incident with S&G when i was behind Andreas and Pepe.
Excluding the race story i was obliged to renounce to the BRM,there is no way to have the sixth gear online and i don't know in which way is possible to resolve the problem.Excluding me, all the pilots have used all the cars and gain 50 points so i don't see a great revolution with this method.
In my opinion is better to mantain the points system but to reintroduce the tokens ,maybe with other values to avoid the continuative use of the Brabham.

After a test a could try to use the BRM with only five gears at Jarama. There is only the straight where is used the sixth. Is a penalization but better than nothing.

I don't know if this is a good solution but why don't you try to configure your BRM setup with 5 gears ?
Of course, the best is to solve this "sixth gear issue" !

Fran,
I decided not to use all 7 chassis, so I won't earn bonus points. I am not challenging for the championship & I have never worked out how to drive the Honda or the BRM. I don't always use the fastest car, I look for a car that will be reasonably competitive at the track.
Yesterday I took the Lotus, which was only about 1/10th of a second faster than my previous PB in the Brabham.
Apart from one minor spin I had solid race. Eric & Riccardo were on fire & whilst I could keep pace with Andreas in the later stages he rarely makes mistakes, so it was 4th place for me after Pepe & Fran ran into problems.
As Pepe said in his post Imola is quite a simple track but almost all the corners are challenging in different ways.

Jarama will be a different, I'm glad I'm not planning to use the BRM there.

You are right ,also for me is the same. The challeng for the championship is over for me (also without the rules of 50 points laugh).
Anyway the rules plus the point for the fast lap and the pole, can only increase the gap between the stronger and the weaker pilots.

UKGPL10 is available if you want to try some online testing.

Cheers,
Dave.

Thank you Dave but since the problem is mainly random, one test could be not significant.
