Season 36 1967F1 – Round 8 –  Imola - Seniors

Season 36 is a joint series between GPL Brazil and UKGPL. This post is for the Senior division.
The track was inaugurated in 1953, and it had no chicanes, so the run from Rivazza all the way to Tosa, through the pits and the eventually notorious Tamburello was totally flat out, as was the run from Acque Minerali all the way to Rivazza was just a long straight with a few small bends; and the circuit remained in this configuration until 1972. Long time home of the San Marino Grand Prix (and once of the Italian Grand Prix) the circuit is fast, bumpy and dangerous.
After the deaths of Roland Ratzenberger and Ayrton Senna in 1994, the track was remodelled to reduce speeds but we use the original, high speed layout.

How was the server tonight? In testing one driver was warping quite badly but it would be useful to know if this happened in the race.

Just fine from flag to flag, Phil.  No complaints whatsoever.

I want to apologize to Tristan Bot, at the exit I moved to the right and pushed the Lotus onto the grass. I didn't see him in the mirrors and when I did it was late. I'm sorry dude I didn't see you no.

Good race and server was ok. Thank you to let me join!

Cheers

Doni was a little bit stuttering in the middle of the race when i followed him.
But i think it was much better all in all.

Very nice race following Doni until the middle of the race, i made some mistakes and finally lost a wheel...

Great fun on this gorgeous track, when it was without chicanes (orrible now especially at Tamburello). Made a small mistake at the braking before the Rivazza when I was 3rd at 3/4 race, dropping 4th on the flag. But happy for the final result

Best Regards

I had a solid race at the back with BRM, but my plan to see many Cosworth on fire didn't work... Grin
On to fast cars again.

I always liked Imola, since my GP3-times -to drive it in an old trackversion here in GPL even more. A great racing track I could visit personally in the late 90ies, when a guy named Schumacher won in his Ferrari an we could freely take a walk around the course during race. Even entering the track with thousands of other fans afterwards and entering the pitstraight during victory ceremony was possible in Italy at those times.

Back to nowadays:
Congratulations to Keni for his speed in the black horse -great performance, demands alot of sweat here Smiley Only flawless driving with a bit of luck made this victory possible!
Also well done Greg, strong in the roaring Brabham on 3!
Thanks to all laped racers for absolutely fair driving and keeping the overview!

hopefully cu next time again!
take care,

tim

btw: connection was much better, not one warp recognized here

There is a link to the server replay in the race announcement. But was Rob asking about a video, i.e. replay converted and uploaded to  YouTube?

Since there seemed to be less warp issues between Europe and Brazil with a UK based server, I suggest I host the last 2 senior rounds on UKGPL_4. Is everyone is OK with that?
