Hot pace at the front with Olo, gap see-sawed around the 1 second mark for the best part of 20 laps, but just as decided there was zero chance of overtaking without him making a mistake, I span it myself....

Chased too hard and threw it into the wall, so Manfred went through for second, and then the lack of front splitter made staying on track at pace difficult, resulting in another off piste moment which killed the car. That's racing, and a mix of frustration at not finishing and enjoyment of the intensity and speed of the battle was what I was left with.....

Grats to all that finished, was not easy on this track at all. First time for me, won't make it onto a favourites list for sure  Smiley

Results and replay now posted.

Can I remind driver's that chat at race end should ideally take place after the last driver has crossed the finish line, please.

Olo, I'll list you as owner of car #995

Well i don't think the track is not good enough. Maybe the car was not the right choice for this circuit. The circuit it self is very technical and challenging.

I knew i am going to be slow here, as everything i tried with the setup just made the things worse.

The qualifying was bad for me, as i didn't made good enough lap so i had to start from P7.

At the start i decided to brake a little bit early, to give some comfort to the faster guys but unfortunately Coyote didn't knew my plan and went into me, so the car went the other way and i was in P12 after that. Unfortunately Eif didn't sow me and went into my car with high speed. Coyote waited for me so i say Thanks to him for that, even though for me this was just a racing incident.

Little by little i went up in the standings after some mistakes from the drivers in front of me. After a while i was in P6 and managed to stay with Dan's pace, but he was 9 seconds in front of me, so no change catching him. After a little mistake Coyote was now behind me, and we have started great chase for maybe 15 laps.

After a while Dan made a mistake on the last corner and i overtake him as we started a battle. He was clearly faster than me, but i didn't make any mistake. But at one of the chicanes he made an attack. I opened the door for him but after watching the replay i think he just went with too much pace there and there was no chance to avoid collision.    Grin

After the hit i totally stop the car because i was on the grass and i was risking third cut track warning which was going to give me Stop/Go penalty. This gave a chance for Coyote to get in front of me, and till the end he didn't make any mistakes and was clearly faster than me, so great and deserved podium for him. As for me - i somehow took the fourth position, as many of the faster drivers DNF'd at the end.

Congrats to Santiago for the great win, to Manfred and Coyote for the podium and to Daz for the great Fastest Lap of the Race.  Cool

After some laps here I remembered I hadn't even given the correct pronunciation for this track. It's:

Awkward track with the 1st corner, then the fast sweepers, then the nasty chicane with the small mountains to climb  Roll Eyes
In R3E I have started using the Bike variant, which has a more sensible turn 1

Not one of my better races, although it wasn't too bad up to half distance.

Expected it to be a fairly lonely race after qually, as I seemed to be in a bit of no-mans land between the top 3 & the rest. However it turned out a bit different when Manfred spun at the end of the opening lap & donated 3rd place to me. Olo & Daz soon disappeared into the distance & after a few laps Manfred, having recovered from his spin, reeled me in. Managed to hold on to my 3rd place for many laps until I ran wide out of T3 & Manfred went past. My race then fell apart, a couple of off track excursions & subsequent damage made the car difficult to drive & like Daz, I struggled to keep it on track & after a couple more barrier crunching moments the car was wrecked & I was out.  Roll Eyes

Congrats to Olo, Manfred & Erling.  clap clap clap

Screwed that one up pretty good..

Used the setup kindly provided by Manfred, as it was much better than my own.  With my concoction, certain curbs had to be avoided like the plague, as running over them invariably resulted in a spin. With Manfred's, I could attack them with abandon.  Didn't revolutionize my laptimes though - knocked off half a sec, getting a high 38 as my best.  Surprisingly, adding race fuel knocked off another half sec - probably a balance issue.

3 minutes before qual, I tried joining the server, only to find it running Road America.  Couldn't join, with a 'Track not installed'.  Was certain I had installed the tracks, and had practiced on Oschersleben, with laptimes that seemed on par with what I could expect, so quite puzzled.  Had to try downloading the track pack, which took a full 5 minutes.  Then install and check if the GP layout matched the one I had been practicing on.  It did, with just some details dffering around the pit exit.  Joined the server at the end of qual, with time for just one hotlap, which placed me midfield.

Got a good start, getting ahead of Dimitar, but he countered, getting back in front approaching T1.  Got caught out by his braking, hitting his right rear, which unfortunately spun him round. Kurt couldn't avoid him, as he came to rest in the middle of the track, so the two collided.  Very sorry about that guys.  Waited for Dimitar and so was last, but Kurt waited too, which was absolutely not called for, as he did nothing wrong.

Made up places by others going off.  Andy let me past I think, so thanks if that was the case.  After a couple of offs by Dimitar, I caught up to him.  The start of a long chase.  I was adamant I wouldn't hit him a 2nd time, so had to be careful.  We were evenly matched, so no real chance for making a move.  We came upon a recovering Dan, with Dimitar getting past him. Regrettably the two tangled the following lap, allowing me to slip past both.  With that I was in 4th, which is where I thought I finished, until Tony posted the results.

Grats to Olo on his win & Manfred in 2nd.  That I got 3rd, with laughable pace and all the stuff going wrong, was wholly undeserved though.  Commiserations to Daz, Geoffers and everyone else with misfortune.

Yes Erling, I let you and Dimitar go as you weren't going to be part of my race.

Clive's jump start and then backing off helpfully left me with an uncluttered run into L1 T1. I kept the gap back to Dominick at around 5 seconds for about 10 laps until he ran into trouble. Then Fulvio had a clear run at me. He was 18 seconds behind with 18 laps to go and was gaining at about 1 second per lap.
I had a desperate time trying to watch the track more than watch the gap on XD, staying safe and trying to go as fast as I dared. Luckily, we had been lapped, as he caught me at the last corner of lap29. Perhaps he was a little too keen to get the power down early out of the last corner to take my slipstream to the line as he spun and denied us a photo finish. A very enjoyable race, Fulvio, one of many like that we have had over the last 15 years.

Grats to the podium and anyone who can lap this track at 1.35.

Like Andy has already said "grats to anyone who can lap this track at 1:35"

That pace is just beyond my comprehension and definitely outside of my ability!! I think I fluked a fastest lap or around 1:41?? so where you guys are gaining 6 seconds is a total mystery?  Huh I did try Manfred's online setup, but frankly I found it harder to drive than the bizarre setup that I had concocted and about 2 secs per lap slower in my hands? The only conclusion must be that it is ME who is the problem here and not the car, although I still believe the car is evil!!!

After I jumped the start and got a SnG on the first lap, things did not look promising. Hitting the pit wall at the pit entry for the SnG did nothing to improve my chances and further reduced my hope levels. Even that hope was soon dashed as I made more errors and eventually damaged the car so much that it was even more of a menace to other drivers than it had been sitting on the grid!!
So, after being lapped by the leaders, I decided that it was safer for all if I went for a beer ......... or two Undecided

I'm with Clive on this one except that I love the car. In fact, the RSR is the car in which I managed to overtake His Dazness for the first time in my sim career (yes, I still remember that). Though that was probably in P&G come to think off it. Anyway, while at the ÖsterreichRing the car was a joy, nothing whatsoever worked here -many thanks for all the suggested and offered setups though. I spent qually watching all them aliens trying to figure out where the huge difference came from but I didn't see or hear anything that allowed for an Aha-erlebnis. In race, after the first spin the car was pretty much useless and the downhill slide became so bad I just gave up eventually. On nights like this I need full restraint not to throw the whole shebang through the window and never look back. I don't mind that I'll never be an alien but down 6 seconds a lap in a car I like and having no clue why is just aaarrarararrgghhhhh.

Congrats to all who managed to conquer this rotter of a track (gotta blame something!).
