Championship standings HERE Track: Sachsenring GP Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins) Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins) Race: 20:40 (30 laps) Series track download pack: Download thisSeries car download pack: Download thisNote: If you downloaded the cars in this event https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=20011.msg366971#msg366971 you already have the cars for this series. Time of Day Setting: 14:00 Start: STANDING Tyre wear: Normal Fuel consumption: Normal Pit stops: Not required Server: simracing.org MONDAY Password: see aboveNotes: (1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage. (2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules. (3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read Autopit="0" Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable. Special Notes: The pit lane and the start lights do not work at this circuit. You are advised to turn on your in-game countdown. Hmm, after last week's nice track, it seems we're now back in the real world with the 911.. Clive, you're gonna love this - entire track is virtually one big opportunity for that venom spitting piece of malice to mug its driver..

I promise I am not going to whinge about these event any more This one is a real roller coaster ride, where the coaster likes to go it's own way.... I use this track in R3E, but only fortcars that can cope with it. I can get round. slowly.

I think the R3E track is a bit easier as it has more kerbs & run-off if you make a small mistake, this version is less forgiving.

The R3E version is easier, and probably more accurate. The steep downhill is less severe, there seems to be a bit more straight between some of the corners, which caught me out 1st lap, and the last uphill turn is not as violent as it is here. Works great for the NSU TTS, would be a nightmare with the FJnr

Apparently, I had a good result in a UKGPL race at Sachsenring some years ago. I don't remember it at all, so I just tried a lap. It still didn't refresh my memory, but it was on public roads, through villages, with haybales at junctions. This modern rollercoaster track was built in the 1990's and doesn't use any part of the old layout, so my previous (forgotten) competence won't help me here. The 911 understeer is frustrating. For me it seems to get worse through the race. I find myself going slower and still sliding wider in the corners as those catching me nip up the inside.

There is another version of Sachsenring, which is the '60's version and matches your description. We have run it a lot of times.

Isn't it better Tony for the server to make the GDB without the "//" so we don't need to change anything? Even though it is totally not a problem for me to make the change.

Sorry guys, but just did not have the faintest idea of how to survive this track for more than a single lap. I would have been a hazard for the leaders after about 2 laps!! So I parked the car.
