Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 697s

BigG locks a wheel into Stowe and is past by Andy and Pedro. Going into Vale corner, BigG drifts into Pedro under braking and he is pushed into Andy; the latter two both spin.

Pedro gets away ahead of Andy, effectively passing him, but behind BigG. It's hard to accuse Pedro of being unsportsmanlike when he was behind the culprit of the original incident.

BigG then passed the pit entrance three times, holding Pedro up for a lap and a half before spinning in Brooklands (repay rtime 1102s) right in from of Pedro, who also spun. BigG again sets off ahead, passing the pit exit and doing another full lap before pulling into the pits for a self-imposed drive through, losing additional places to Jan Duijs and Jamera in the process.

Now, whilst, self-imposed penalties are to be applauded, BigG took this one was a lap late against the rule of thumb (3 laps), and only taken after causing more trouble for the driver he hit. Since the drive through cost him two places anyway, I'm reducing the penalty to 0 places; he is very lucky to avoid points on his license because both Andy and Pedro did not want him penalised further.

  • BigG ([RSms]BigG)penalty — contact with Pedro — 0 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Adam Parle tries to be cute by spinning backwards over the line as the race finishes and nearly collects Pedro, who is almost a full lap ahead, in the process.

Adam has clearly indicated that he realises how dangerous his actions were and I am therefore only going to caution him.

Judging by your "victory dance" at the SF I believed it was a great race for you! Cheesy But seriously - Silverstone is a great circuit. I regret not racing it before. Especially the first double left-right corner sequence is amazing! Just by the end of the race I finally got how to negotiate it right and it felt terrific. Now I understand why Matjaz set his differential so tight.

Fun fun fun!

Have to admit, that was a blast! Had a good start and was getting on pretty well catching fellow Crawler Rob until I froze up the brakes and went straight in one of the chicanes....grrr...
Somewhere between connecting and the end of qually though, my broadband went to shite....lost connection two laps before the end and rang the service provider threatening to "strike down upon them with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my broadband during a race!"

...got put on hold for half an hour....

Ah well, here's to the next race and even more fun.

....Erm, sorry about that, just really annoyed at lots of silly mistakes.  Really wasn't a clever move on my part.

Yes setting differential so tight really helps driving through that amazing corner sequence but at the same time car can become very tricky to drive. You have to be very carefull when downshifting and lifting the throttle, especially if you combine it with a very low rear wing as was the case with my setup. If you are to quick when downshifting or you to rapidly lift the throttle your rear end will step out to violently and you'll spin... and yes that can look slightly embarrassing if it happens in Elise.  Grin

It certainly does! Cheesy Nevertheless I just love the direct control of the rear you yield with throttle using this setup. It pays in the last tight right-hander just before SF straight.

Hi Guys as you may know I used to drive fully modified MG midgets at this track. The joke is that I still get the same problem I had then. I always seem to catch other cars in the corners have to brake or go off line. This ends up with me in the gravel trap quite often. I made a good start from the back then made a pigs ear of things was katching up quite well but got a bit over excited and had a lot of understeer. If I could have managed to string a series of 2.1 or 2.05 min laps It could have seen me up in the top 6. It was good racing with clarey etc but I bet It will be more difficult at Oschers. cheers gerald
