There's no way the merc at the last event, which was 3 seconds a lap slower than the Healey and the Alpine, was adjusted properly. Unless it's based on time rather than position I don't think it ever will be. The choice of cars definately adds to the events though I wanted avoid trying to rate the cars per event or per track, it would've made things too complicated. The Merc was always going to be at a disadvantage at a very twisty track like Mondello, and the Vette is bound to struggle at Combe where the two chicanes punish its large weight; members are expected to use their own initiative when picking cars for an event and take these things into account. The Ladder is meant to be primarily fun and a 'championship' second, and I'm not going to lose sleep if a car rating isn't quite right for a specific combination.

To Dave:- i checked the rules again but couldnt find the answer, if we are lapping cars are we allowed to flash the headlights (once) to make them aware we are lapping them or is it only the car in 1st place allowed to do that?
Sometimes you come up behind a battle-ing trio of cars, or even an individual, who are probably not always aware that a lapping car has caught them. Was tempted a few times last night to give a quick indication that i wanted to pass, especially in the final laps when its usually crucial to not lose any time to the guy in front or behind, racing for position, but didnt want to seem 'arsey' by flashing, if its not in our 'sporting conduct' to do so.
Negotiating traffic is all part of the fun or trials of racing but i would have been mighty peeved if my last lap spin avoiding contact with a backmarker had cost me several places, fortunately i had a big gap to the car behind. (Again would like to state that it was a totally innocent move on the backmarkers behalf)
Can you clarify please? ta

The rules just say "Drivers may flash their headlights (either on-off during the day or off-on during the night) to warn other drivers of their presence. However, a driver being flashed shall not be obligated to let them pass." Your use would certainly fall within those bounds; I tend to put my lights on when I'm a few seconds behind a car I'm about to lap and then turn them off as I pass, usually followed by a "thank you" flash. The only real restriction is that a class leader is the only car allowed to run with headlights permanently on.

I loved this race, the entire race i tried to focus very hard it was a complete hell trying to keep as fast as possible during 36 laps, the fight with Ruskus and Radius was very nice, i almost hit Ruskus car in T1, i had a lot of fun, and im happy Leh and PR got 1st and 3rd.
For once i had no bad luck

From someone who gets lapped a lot - it very hard to tell who is coming up behind you, in both races I've done here now I think I cost the leaders time as I did not know they where lapping me. Flashing the headlights (ala FIA GT/LMS/ALMS style) makes it easyier to tell. If I am flashed I will move out of the way. Just my 2 pennies worth.

I had a good race. I'm happy to score my first pole, and my first win in an euqal car. Race was semi-exciting, after I got two warnings already in the first 2 or 3 laps, because I came wide on the grass, once after the first chicane and once on the start/finish straight, I concentrated a lot to not make another mistake. I had some bad luck while overlapping at some point, which allowed Pero to overtake me. Pero had similar bad luck a few laps later, and I could get back in front again. A few laps later Pero made a mistake and spun, so I could go easier, and drive home my first real win.
After I crossed the finishing line, I saw some shocking scenes, which before I only saw in movies like "2001: A Space Odyssey" or "Terminator 3: Rebellion of the Machines", when computers take over control and try to kill human beings. After I crossed the line and the AI took control over my car, it immediately pulled left and rammed out Mikey Coop, who was a few meters ahead of me, and thus still in race. He spun, hit the rails a few times and came to stop in the grass. When he tried to get back on the track, the AI controlled car of Bill hit him at full speed, and smashed him against the rails once more. Heavily damaged he tried to get on the tarmac a last time, only to be finished off be Picnic's AI controlled car, which rammed him at full speed another time. It seems Mikey Coop fell back from 10th to 12th position because of the AI which ganged up on him. I never imagined something like this could happen.
I think I remember having read somewhere, that there is an option in the config file, to disable AI taking control over your car after finishing. If someone knows the name of that setting, please tell. Maybe it would make sense to require this being set for everyone, to avoid issues like this (and AI taking over world supremacy in general).

Set NO AI Control="1" in the Driving Aids section of the .PLR file. It has the added advantage that you can then pull over after the end and do doughnuts.

Ah good, thanks. I will try that.
If only the guys of "2001: A Space Odyssey" had had a NO AI Control="1" setting, too ...

Well that explains something for me.I didn't believe what I was seeing.
I know most of the guys who race here and when I watched the replay and saw LeH smash into me I thought something must be wrong.
Might be a good idea to do that config thing.
Anyway no harm and I've learnt something
