Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 282s

PRibeiro runs off the track after hitting a post at the chicane. He attempts to rejoin at the next corner, but cuts violently across to the left, collecting Dave. PRibeiro didn't bother to submit an incident report, so I can only treat this as an unsafe rejoin.

Server replay time: 318s

JonM carries a bit too much speed into T2, and slides off the track. From this point he is a passenger, and is unable to avoid contact with LeH as he comes back on. Jon spins, and Pero clips him as he goes past. Fortunately both LeH and Pero are able to continue, and Jon waits for a safe opportunity to pull away.

Racing incident.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 446s

Jon is catching James quickly coming up to the last corner. Jon moves to the inside, and gets a slight overlap before the turn-in point. Jon holds a tight line on the inside, but James turns in on him. There is side-by-side contact and James spins.

James should have seen Jon was closing on him and had moved to the inside, and left more room accordingly. I'm reducing this to a warning, as Jon only gets a slight overlap.

Server replay time: 590s

JonM misses the pit lane entrance and cuts across the grass. No other cars were close, so this wasn't hazardous.

  • JonM_ukadvice — check where the pit lane entrance is before the race

All members welcome.

Practice: 20:15 (15 mins)
Qualifying: 20:30 (20 mins)
Race: 20:50 (36 laps = ~40 mins)

Track: Castle Combe (with chicanes) v2.00, available from the downloads page
Cars allowed: Capri, Corvette, 911
Time of Day Setting: 14:00

Server: UKGTL Ladder; in the event that the lobby is unavailable, connect using Direct IP, entering games.avonrise.co.uk in the Add IP box
Password: See this post

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules. Note in particular that we will be using the new pit lane speed limiter starting procedure.
(3) General information on the ladder can be found on the series home page.
(4) The season will be run using a UKGTL carpack v1.1 which will need to be installed prior to racing.

Just done a few laps around here in the Cortina. I got into the 1.14's within 10 laps. As, I think, Dave said elsewhere the 2nd chicane is way too open. Just looked at the online timing from qualifying at the last race meeting where we just happened to have some Lotus Cortinas racing. 1:26's for those guys.

Would you please tell us which cars are eligible.  As has been pointed out some of us need more practice than others.  Particularly in my case, as I demonstrated last night. Embarrassed Embarrassed  One of my least favourite tracks with the choice of 3 cars I'd never raced before and I had only driven the Merc for a few laps after unlocking it (at Amateur Level) before discarding it.  A disaster waiting to happen - and it did.

Okay, I have cast the die of randomness and come up with Capri, Corvette, and 911.

Laptimes around here will be about the minute mark in these cars won't they? Would 35 laps be about right?

Dunno, you are the world record holder according to GTL Rank Grin.

I think times will vary around 1:05-1:07

I tried a couple of laps in the Pantera and couldn't get through the first corner (sorry forgotten the name - the famous one! laugh) at any speed, would just buck on the bump (huge dip) on the way in and car-eeeeer wildly into a spin and across 2 fields, a barn and a field of cows.

Thankfully for everyone else, I'll be on holiday and miss this one.  Wink Grin
