I just installed the skin pack, but noticed some cars have different weight and power values in the car selection menu. Is this correct? Are there basically 2 versions of the Porsche 911?

Yep, two versions. Always were. In fact there are three versions modelled in the standard GTL. But the other (3rd) version is called "wide". Doesn't show up in the car spec table tho.

Standard car #81 is a "wide" version. I think it's to do with the wide rear spoiler.

After doing some practice on the server and seeing Manfred in the big wing Porsche, it appears that it's much faster than the others, at least 2 seconds or more. Why are we choosing numbers of the cars are so different? I don't see the point of racing if I have to drive a slower car and have no chance of victory.

What sort of laptimes are we talking about ?

I have only tried my (big wing) car, which I picked purely on looks, so haven't noticed any difference in performance.  With it, my best time is just under 1:55.  Could it be that Manfred is just an über-über-alien ?  Smiley

I hadn't appreciated that there was such a discernible difference between the cars. In fact I don't think UKGTL has ever divided the Porsche 911 into two types.

There seem to be many "small wing cars" using engine & weight of the "big wing car" (for example #3 & #853). Could be adjusted maybe.
For me in last place it makes no difference  Grin
