Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Track: Mondello Park (Short)

Cars allowed: Mini Cooper S

RACE ONE - CUP STAGE A, Round 1

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (10 mins)
Race: 20:30 (25 laps)

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: To score points in this series you must complete over 50% of the overall race distance.

Erm, what's the original Mini in the game (and how can one know that by the way)?
Never mind, got in.

I keep getting CTD’d. Now messaged “car not present on server”. I have so many classes of Mini downloaded. Have tried most of them but no joy. Huh

It's the standard Mini that came with GTL

I don’t know which one that was now, I tried most of them. I have two installations of GTL. On one I kept getting CTD’d when trying to join.  cursing On the other one I always got “car not present on server”.  Sad It seems there is a fault on one of my installations although I have managed to race online with it.

And for the old CD version I managed to get to load only once I was probably choosing the wrong Mini’s. Roll Eyes  surrender IF anyone knows the engine class and car number that might help.

Have fun, hope to see you next week.

As of lately i am having two sim racing faces - the first one is the "mistake making guy" and the second one - "the stone cold dude". We saw both of them here.

At Mondello everything went ok in the qualifying, making new personal best and starting second, behind the flying Geoffers. I was in great position untill the end, and after that some stupid mistakes ruined my race. At the end the game decides to punish me for cutting the track, even though at two of the three cuts i lost some time. Didnt managed to find the box, so i finished without the penalty, but the game gave me some aditional time, maybe 1 minute, i dont know...

At the second race i was slower overall in Q, starting 5th, but managed to produce great, consistant pace. We had a great battles with Dan and Nocatu for the final podium place. At the end i was a little bit more consistent and have taken the 3th. I should say that the setup was definetly better in Race conditions, so Thank you Hristo!  laugh

Congrats to Geoffers and Hristo for the wins and everyone who managed to see the chequered flag at least once.

Dont give up on these series, as we are about to drive more cars and tracks and it's going to be more fun.  I think the Cortina will be more enjoyable then the Mini, just wait and see Smiley

You're welcome, though looking at how you drive it on your video, it feels like you had better balance than I did with it! I struggled to get the hang of this car, but managed to gradually figure it out during both races. In fact, the more the front tyres wore out, the better it seemed to be going. Benefited from other people's mistakes in both races too, though I had to do a little bit of work to take advantage. Overall I'm pleased with the results, because I wasn't expecting it.

Sorry for being absent. Under regular circumstances it would have been the time of my yearly holidays.
But no journey this year and only a shortened timeout Sad just one or two little things.
Hoping for 2021 and already planning a six week stay in Denmark. Still a long way there.

So here we go:

Couple of good races, took me back to the old days of the GamersCrib Mini League. Very happy with my pace, looking back at my results when we raced these tracks at GC, I lapped 0.3s quicker at Mondello & 0.7s quicker at Anderstorp than I did back then, so I must have improved over the last 10-12 years! Only error was a spin on the penultimate lap at Anderstorp which allowed Hristo a go at overtaking, I could have defended into the final turn but not really my style in these races & it was a well executed overtake anyway.

Congrats to Hristo on the race 2 win & also to the podium mounters.  clap clap clap

As Dimitar eluded to in a previous post, the tracks and cars get bigger as we progress up through the cup stages, so no more Mini only races (sorry Geoffers).

Interesting to note that both events were first's for UKGTL. Not once in fourteen years have these tracks had a race held on them.

And imagine being back in 2006 and trying these to races as your introduction to GTL. I think that many newbies would have given up there and then.

Anyway, once the smaller tracks are out of the way, we will have some great challenges in this series.
