Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 65s

Pedro looks to the inside of Chunky going into turn 3 and is virtually level when Chunky turns in on him and there is contact. Both drop to the tail of the field before they can rejoin. It was lap 1, and Chunky really should've been aware that Pedro was, or at least could be, alongside, and left room.

Chunky then squeezes Pedro as they go into turn 4; the latter then brakes a bit too late and spins off.

  • Chunkypenalty — contact with Pedro — 3 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 2400s

It's the last lap and Mark Jonzo is about a second behind BigG in 4th place. BigG catches Dan Minton, who is down in 12th and not in a fight with anyone, as they approach turn 1.

Dan should probably have allowed BigG past between T2 and T3 but Gerald is busy spinning off in T3 and BigG very sensibly makes no attempt to pass. This allows Mark Jonzo to catch right up with BigG, who has to be patient as there isn't really much track between T3 and Piscene to allow another driver past.

Dan actually pulls away a little out of Piscene and Mark gets a strong run behind BigG, drafting up and alongside. He flashes his lights at Dan but Dan is still half a dozen car lengths ahead, and has nowhere to go except to block BigG on the right. BigG backs out and yields the line to Mark, but the latter gets his line wrong into Proserpini and hits the tyres on the right, launching himself into the air and collecting BigG in the process.

Dan in the meantime has hit the left hand tyres and also spun off.

Mark retires on the spot.

Whilst Dan did not deliberately block BigG early in this sequence of events, there was no good reason for him not to move over out of turn 2 and make it easy for BigG at the least to pass him. We advise drivers being lapped not to change lines on a straight, but this does not give you carte blanche to stick rigidly to the racing line, particularly when being lapped by a car of the same class which does not have the horsepower to simply blast by on the straight. Dan probably should have stayed or moved right coming out of T2 and allowed BigG past.

Now, given the size of the gap behind Dan as they exiting Piscene, it was not reasonable to expect him to then back off and allow BigG (and Mark) past. By the time Mark got alongside BigG there was no longer any simple, safe course of action open to Dan which would have allowed both BigG and Mark past. The fact that Mark crashed was entirely down to his own mistake.

  • Dan Mintonwarning — unduly holding up BigG whilst being lapped

Ok Just been having a blast and it looks like you can't get a cut track warning after the first chicane. Dunno about the section coming into the start/finish as I got to go out and G/F is giving me filthy looks(no not that kind). But this seems like a big problem to me as it would encourage major track cutting. Dunno if it's 'cus elise is so slow that the game thinks that this is a average speed for the car between these 2 points or not but what you guys think. Track change or just a gentalman's agreement etc? Or maybe my games just screwy Tongue death scared drool eek

We have a rule on track cutting which should cover this instance. Straight lining the track is cheating and will be penalised where reported.

Use Of Track Surface

    * Moderators will not normally check these rules unless another driver submits an incident report.
These rules apply in all sessions, including qualifying, even when not on a flying lap.
    * Persistent or deliberate 'railriding' is strictly forbidden.
    * Drivers must at all times keep at least two wheels within the boundaries of the track.
The track is defined as the normal road surface, which at most tracks is definied by white lines at the edge of the road, plus any painted curbs. Areas of grass, gravel, sand, and areas painted green, are not part of the track.
Cars which are not fully under the driver's control are normally exempt.

    * A driver who gains an advantage by breaching the previous rule must yield the advantage back to any affected car(s).
An advantage may include taking a place directly, setting up a pass, or avoiding losing a place.

I think I had quite a few cuts in Oschersleben when turning to that long left corner which is faster if you enter it very wide and to do this you have to go beyond the white line but you're still on the asphalt.  angel

Enna could be fun with Elise. I think we'll have a lot of slipstreaming but not much overtaking due to some very nasty chicanes.  Grin

Bearing in mind that there is going to be one hell of a tight pack of cars (due to similar cars) heading down to the 2nd? chicane (the one with tyres/barrels on the apex), how about enforcing a no-outbraking/overtaking rule for the first flying lap when heading into the braking zone for it ?  I know its not quite the way of 'racing' but its got to be better than losing upto 6 cars in a big pile up, as happens everytime we race here. It can be complete carnage and also usually takes out innocent drivers who come flying down into a wall of stranded and busted cars....speaking from bitter experience Roll Eyes

Just a thought, anyone agree?

The Elise is good fun around here and as i suspected, like a karting meet  Cool...and there will be some chaos! sweatdrop 2guns cursing

Was doing some training off-line. Race weekend in single player allows only 15 min race. When in garage it says 101 laps!?!?  Huh
But then the race does last 15 minutes only.  Sad  Something to do with the skin patch?

I never even made it to the race, was going to manage to log in with 5 mins of qualifying left, and then my connection was screwed.  It was showing as connected, but couldn't contact anything.

I am so angry i could almost kill  Angry

Waste of an hour and a half of my night ruined by some arse hole on the last lap of the race, who refused to get out of the way blocking myself and Big G, even when flashed and obvious it was two lapping cars trying to get past. His stupidness caused me to slam into the tyre wall on the chicane as i was blocked and unsighted and totalled my car, with Big G also crashing at same place.

You know who you are you tw*t 2guns  i thought this was supposed to be 'sporting' I cannot understand the mentality of someone who decides to f*ck up other peoples races just because they have failed in their own.

Was running in 4th after slipstreaming Big G who had already been badly blocked by the same bloke through several corners and refused to move out of the way,  and on last lap...nuff said.
End up with naff all Angry

Wow what a nervous wreck I am eek This track was just soooo hard. Knowing that on any lap in one of 2 places it could be all over really made me bottle out of going for super flying laps. For the first time I felt that I had the pace of Matjaz but when I finally did have the pace I didn't have the class to go with it. Superb driving Matjaz Grats on the win Cool  I've really enjoyed this Champ, dicing with Matjaz and Ruskus has been a blast, I'd like to thank SROU for organising and all the lads who drove for making it a great little mini champ Cool Cool Cool Great stuff lads Wink

Qually went as expected, I couldn't keep up with Matjaz and Jon. Especially Jon's time was amazing, a second faster than me. Maybe if I had a clean lap I would have beaten Matjaz in qually, but he is good at starts, so that would have been lost quickly anyway Grin.

Matjaz shot in the distance at the beginning and I was following Jon around. He went wide at the 2nd chicane and I took 2nd. But I was in a fair mood, so I messed up and gave his position back Tongue. Soon after I spun again and I went into  wheelchair -mode, because I thought I had to settle for 3rd as I was too far behind anything better.

Halfway through the race I remembered I had replays on, so I thought I would get the 1FPS bug for sure, but luckily I managed. But more surprisingly, I came from 12s behind Jon, to 6s behind and I thought he was struggling with his tyres, and that I would get a shot for 2nd. But he played with me and started using his right foor again and slowly drove off again laugh.

That first chicane is scary. In qually I was almost going flatout through there and I didn't give a crap, but during the race I was frozen everytime I approached it. The last 5 minutes I went slower through the 1st chicane, but that made it even more dangerous as I misguessed the entry point, but I didn't crash luckily.

Grats to Matjaz for surviving and finishing 1st and Jon for outspeeding the Devil during qually thumbup2

One race to forget for me. Total lack of practice was a terrible mistake. Default "fast" setup is so unforgiving I had to tweak it - which took almost all the practice session. Apart from unstable car, my driving seemed terrible. I couldn't find out why I spin all the time (later about this).

I qualified 12th struggling to keep the car on the track. This position didn't seem that bad as I have expected some un(enna)vitable DNF's in front of me, which should have resulted with some points. Quite a nice start as some folks forgot to press accelerator on green lights and then, on a turn 2 - slam, a little friendly punch from behind left me spinning on the grass.

Rejoined 16th - of course. Managed to 14th then spun 5 times in 3 laps. Luckily - without any car damage.

After several laps I got 11th then hang my car on the first chicane Sad Tried to get back on track without success.

At least during standing start I have found out the reason of my terrible driving - my accelerator pedal didn't calibrate properly and it worked only the last 30% of the scale. Even Elise is difficult to drive with binary input on the throttle. After the race recalibrated it and easily got 1.47.xx time. Well - racing they call it.

Congratulations to all you folks who managed to finish the race - no matter what place!!!
