didn't know there had been a car update since we last installed these cars. Do I need to reinstall them all again?

Maybe you need the other version of Estonia 21. There are 2 version of this car.

Reply number 8 in the announcement thread has a link to the older version of the Estonia 21 of you only need that. The big download in post 1 already includes it.

Edit- I've now highlighted the pre-existing text in the series announcement so people actually read it

I'm running fairly low wings. I tried none and while the car is fast, it isn't 'racey' as it isn't precise enough to fight in traffic.

More wing front than back seems the way to go here - for car's that have fixed front wings that just means reducing the rear wing until it become too nervous Wink

I've just updated the 1st post in this thread with the last/latest of the joining info - we're up to 20 drivers now, although I know not all can make tomorrow night sadly.

To re-iterate on car skins you'll need the following if you haven't done so already:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/03zpwyykcv9sk5q/69_Barone.rar/file
https://www.mediafire.com/file/ah8s27ijqhpmqcq/28_FabriFibra.rar/file

Otherwise you'll just see yet more white AE2's!

Your steam directory/content/cars/Avia AE2/skins if I remember correctly.
The Avia directory might be spelt slightly differently, just make sure you don't put them in the R2 car folder!

Not sure if I will make the race guys. It is my daughters birthday today and altough I expect all the quests to be gone by the time our race starts, there is a possibility I will be running late.
Then as it is a 2 heat format, am I allowed in for the 2nd heat if I miss the first one?

I don't see why not if you're back in time.
All I'd ask is that if you don't have a setup or know your way around the circuit then consider starting from the pit to avoid any nasty lap 1 incidents. Smiley

On the subject of incidents we have a very good sized grid tonight so the risk is high. Please try and race safely especially in race 2.
If you're a slower driver being caught and are happy to be passed don't go dancing all over the road trying to make space in any location you feel unsafe doing so, or just as a car catches you.
A faster car will find its own way if they decide to pass on a corner or braking zone, if you stay on the line and stay predictable then accidents are fair less likely!

For this to remain fun we need to stay aware of the rules and each other, I'd rather not have to put my moderators hat on but would also rather that any dodgy driving is reported so we can improve future races.

For anyone who doesn't have it I'd recommend helicorsa, which you can find on Racedepartment. That should help make sure you know where surrounding cars are.

I would also recommend 'Crewchief V4' as it has a good spotter who can tell you if a car is still alongside or 'clear'  Smiley

Odd on the low wings, I found I was slower the lower wing I went and watching my speed on the long straight it was like it was stalling and losing km/h  Undecided

I actually did some aero/load testing on the drag strip experimenting with different ride height/rake, spring and rear wing settings to give me a base line setup. I found that there seems to be some ground effect in play (at least with the Melkus) and that rake/height made a difference to load values at the rear axle, so rear wing loading at higher speeds will also affect that.

I gained a second/lap at Grobnik on the same rear wing setting as I'd been testing with before and then found that decreasing the wing made me slower and obviously less stable overall. Could all be bollox of course and I'm still dog slow but it killed a couple of hours.

Spring and shock settings plus roll bars, gears, diff and driving style all play their part.
My silly fast lap had no rear wing (front is fixed on the 1-03) but was using my test setup from Riverside - I'd spent some time on that as more wing was always slower due to the huge straight.
And I like it loose of course Smiley
