UPDATE  :

Have inspected the disasterous pedal box.  Discovered one of the two rubber bands is broken!  It must have been a Lotus racing rubber band, as they too often had lightweight parts break.  Hoping to upgrade sometime . . . or find a Rolls Royce rubber band. Angry Grin

First of all, many thanks to the organization of this tournament and its champion Clive, he had a great campaign and ran in an excellent way, congratulations Loynes. clap
I can only write that as much as in mod 67 and mod 55, my performance was very bad, for many years that I was not doing so badly in any league, but the few races I could finish were very fun, but the best of all yesterday's.
after the accident at turn 3 I was able to get into 4 and then 3, with a great chase from doni, who for more than half of the race generated a lot of pressure on me to take off that precious podium, and he did it ...  death after a great act of chivalry, thinking that maybe he pushed me a little in Turn 7 and I had to bite the grass a little, the very kind man released the accelerator and returned the position, (thanks doni there are almost no more so gentle runners), then again the snort of the bull that was behind me pressed me again to the point that I did it, and I went a little long, biting the grass and managed to steal my beautiful 3 place .... 2guns.. nice race and spectacular final.
I hope that the following season, I can run better and be able to fight side by side with the greats,
  thanks guys nice season  rockon

Clive might have stolen taken the Driver's Championship, but we all know that it is really about the Team Title, ask any F1 Team Principle  Roll Eyes.

Thanks to Doni's consistent form and performances and Paul's dogged determination, the unruly massed ranks of the Soggy Bottom hordes have been defeated by the brave few at Blue Moose.... Grin.
I think the SBRC should be thankful that Mrs Fujikawa is still meditating in her mountain hideaway...…………... shifty

Hey. Clive and Doni,

Perhaps we should remind them that it was about "Blue Moose Racing" that Winston Churchill stated...

"never before has so little, been owed to so few, by so many who dont give a toss"

I apologize for the delayed reply.

Congrats Clive! Excellent work to take the championship!

It was a shame Evil couldn't finish his season better.

I was glad to get the Lancia a win this season. It deserved one. It was interesting how well the Maserati did by taking the most wins. The Lancia didn't appear to like having that trident poking it. The Lancia failed while leading at least twice.

I guess it's apparent that I've learned to drive these cars somewhat. I'm much better than I was when the season started. I could have beat Clive if I could have won Monza and Aintree, but Clive's tenacity, wisdom, and consistency reigned supreme.

I won't be around much for possibly more than a year. I'm moving and I be could be off the internet for months. I hope you guys have fun. It's a shame I'm going to miss the Sports Car and Grand Prix series. I was driving full Grand Prix, Can Am, and GTs for two years prior joining UKGPL.

Take care guys and thanks for letting me race with you.

Thank you for the kind words Greg and I hope that your move goes well.  Sorry to hear that it will keep you away from Season 37.

For me, the main attraction of the 55mod is that it is difficult enough for fast types such as yourself to make errors, allowing a "Steady Eddie", such as me, to come out on top!   Grin

I sincerely hope that Greg somehow manages to get himself on line and join in the hostilities for season 37. I hope the house move goes well Greg and your new home is all that you hope for. Whenever you come back, there will be a warm welcome here at UKGPL.

Looking back at the 55's and season 36...

I was fully expecting Clive Loynes to be very competitive, as he had shown his pace in previous seasons. I was not at all surprised that Clive was an ever present threat at every circuit and never more than a few seconds away. He always manages to finish the race and collect points, which in these 55 cars is no mean feat!
Greg was the surprise package for me this season. I knew that he was a formidable racer in the 67's etc, but I had just not factored in the challenge that materialised from his pit garage in the 55's. If just a couple of results had gone differently he might have ben the one with the bubbly and silverware.

But it was Clive's consistent pace and ultra reliability that deservedly took the trophy. I have no excuses for not capitalising on my early season success and poor results ( DNF's ) at Glenzandring and Hockenheim squandered points that would have lifted the pressure on me in the final races.

Clive and Greg had maintained the pressure right through the season and were waiting to pounce on any mistakes. Clive was the one who did not put a foot wrong for the whole season. He might not have picked up wins in the early races, but he made sure that he was second with his strategy and consistency dropping the minimum number of points every time. Never lower than 2nd place for the whole season  I Am Not Worthy I Am Not Worthy
I am already looking forward to season 37 and the 55's and TBH I had been seriously concerned about how intense the competition would be. Clive is always a threat and I might have to fit a turbo on the Connaught!!.
I hope that Greg makes it for next season because I had a small epiphany when following his car in a couple of races, and Greg actually commented about the difference between our  driving styles. I tend to drive my 55 cars more like a rally car, using a slide to scrub off speed and plenty of opp lock to negotiate corners and line the car up for the exit. Greg was ultra smooth and clean, without any hint of sideways motion...and more importantly just as quick!!! especially in the heavy Merc Streamliner.
As much as it goes against my normal approach ( minimal preparation, and usually none at all ) to any races online, I might have to "up my game" and get serious if I want to get my sweaty fingers on the trophy again.

Well done Clive and Greg. A pleasure and priviledge to race with you.

Also a big shout out to Doni who quietly crept up on the blind side with a string of good results  Wink
