Good race - much unexpected that I was preety much up to speed although never even see this track till about 45 min before practise started so I was very much devestated when I saw LeH do a 2:07.9 straight away in qually and barely managed a mid 2:09 just minutes before in singleplayer. So I was in for a steep learning curve of the track which I managed after a few laps - was even 0,5 sec up on the first split in one of the laps. Certanly now I could do much better in qually. Anyhow - race was good - lost some ground at the start and than started catching. When Ruskus went for the pass on LeH I was right there and next lap I was able to pass leh into the last corner - we were side by side trough the last section. Than I started to push and trying to cathc Ruskus - did nothing for about two laps and than got into my groove and drove some fast laps to cut the gap a bit. After Ruskus went wide I got into the lead and was able to controll the gap - I was pushing just enough to not kill my tires as I knew Ruskus had to push more to catch up and would kill his tires before I would mine. That was also what happened at the end - last few laps I was able to take less risks and drove home a very welcome win. However - grats to LeH on the great qually lap - last minute attack which resulted in a great lap. I tried to do the same but I seemengly punctured my right rear on the out lap as I was having huge slides at low speeds into lefthanders

Wow, another really great race!! I had practiced Pantera but was convinced by my teammate to try the Capri; still not sure, but I think I would've been faster in Panty (more experience). But I did a PB in qual, even though it wasn't a very good time, and started P9. The warmup lap started out okay but became disasterous when the cars ahead braked suddenly at the apex of a tight turn just as I was looking in my rearview mirror and the tap took part of my aero. Early in the race that cost me dearly as the front runners sped off and I had a train behind me; I was never able to get down to my qual time again, either. A few laps in james had a spin (replay 495 sec); I came upon a sideways 911 with a train behind me and had to decide quickly: he needed to go forward to recover, so I aimed to go behind him and he was able to rejoin behind Jonzo who went a little wide out of the braking zone. That set the stage for some wonderful racing a few laps later when james caught me! We've had a bunch of great racing so I knew things would be clean and fun. I could feel his frustration as he was obviously faster than I in several places ... but some of those were tough passing areas like the chicane before the front straight. Two consecutive laps we were side-by-side through the left at the bottom of the hill (starting about 730 secs & again with a sweet draft about 860 secs), really great stuff since it's hard to go through there alone, let alone as a duo. Watching the replay I can see we both left huge room there but at the time the monstrous sound of the 911 made it seem much closer. My Capri could pull away on the straights so james had to bide his time and get the moment, which he eventually did when I erred and went wide after 2 laps of tight racing. I want to apologize to james for the errors I made while he was behind me -- the 911 has BIG sound and it was very difficult to hear my Capri which is rather quiet. james also gets kudos for cleanliness! So james is speeding off into the distance when all of sudden, d'oh, another spin (replay 1130 sec)! And right in that very same turn where we'd been side-by-side the previous laps. When I was growing up my friends called me JD, King of Clearance, and I'll be interested to see the server replay as mine shows the most mild bit of contact as I came through, though I didn't feel it at the time (could be the usual lag thing). But we had to be close enough to swap paint, wow!! I kept my drive and james was hot on it again too, catching me quickly a few turns later. I had sweat in my eyes by this point and it was just a matter of time before the inevitable error; sure enough, coming out of that uphill right hander with the bumps that throw the Pantera I got some tail spin (replay 1234 sec) and all I could think of was james right behind me!! I kept on the gas to stay out of the way but once that was assured I ended up killing the engine which cost huge time and firmly ended the fun with james. I was pretty drained at this point and spent many laps near ASSASSINO, which is also fun with great visuals of the GS Pantera. I had big problems getting good laps then (exacerbated by the tires fading) but towards the end of the race I found myself slowly catching Marc Jonzo and BigG (who was having some lag...). With a few more laps (or fewer errors earlier...) I might have been able to recover the positions I lost from my spin, but I was actually glad the race ended so I could dry off. :p Grats to the winners and thanks again for a great race! And kudos to the skin makers, very good work; it was refreshing in qual to see new cars. -=> J <=-

WOW good race!!! I was bushed...traveling most of the day with work stuff!!! arghh! got home a 8:10pm and just didn’t feel right! Anyway, the previous night half of the guys who raced tonight had a Istanbul race warm up and i knew LeH would do 2:07 but i wasn't worried as in that race i did a 2:07:5 BUT!!....my wheel didn’t feel right for some reason..dunno if my little brother was messing around with it an had to put up with it as 15 mins left in quali!!! As suspected only crap quali time but i adjusted in the race but nowhere near what i could’ve achieved..so upset i am Start was great 4 of us running close, nice skilled driving with no mishaps and as soon as i saw Ruskus and pedro moving in on LeH i knew i had to pounce, and did and settled into a rhythm (knowing where LeH is quicker and slower) controlled him like my little poodle on a leash! LOL! That went on for like 12 laps i think and by lap 3 i had 2 warnings already OMG!!! LOL!....but i kept calm and drove quite well i must say So all in all i great race but i know i could’ve been up there as i was a 2nd slower than usual! (wow nice typo ) grats to everyone else that finished! ....1 more thing..sry if i mention this here but i appreciate back markers fighting for position but....I got viciously brake tested, blocked and slammed into a drift that nearly caused a spin. I won’t submit an incident report coz i like u guys, it was unintentional ofc and am just too bloody lazy

Just had a look at the Points table and was quite suprised to see I was down to P2 even though I have better results than Ruskus (# of wins and podiums). I dont want to complain at all as I know that the points get calculated based on the car choice. I am suprised though as I was mostly in the same car as Ruskus. I noticed that the scores are calculated based on the absolute car rating and not on the relative car rating within it's class. In my oppinion that is a false way of calculating things - I reckon that a win should be worth the same ammount than a win if the first win was driven with the best car of class GTC76 and the second win was driven with the best car of TC65. As it is now the TC65 get more points be default which is not correct in any book. I guess this way you can allow mixed field races, but I think that the problem of calculating points for a car outside that fied could be solved othervise. Why not give the best car within the class the same rating as the best car from another class. That way it would make more sence - at least to me, especially as the bigger cars are usually much more difficult to bring trough the race. Sorry for the OT - I just have noticed this and thought it was worth to mention.

Agree with you Radius - why I wrote is that I saw that situation and couldnt quite understand why. How can a win in a Falcon be worth less than a third in an Alpine - Falcon being on level with Alfa in that race as the best car and the A110 being the best choice in that race. I have thought a bit and saw that my first assumption as false and that the best car of the classes get the same point, but in a race where the best cars of the class are allowed you can get less points for the win that in a race where the slower cars in the class are fielded although you take the fastest of the choices. Kinda sorry that I started the toppic - dosent really matter anyhow. It just bothers my mathematical side to see inconsistensy like that.

I couldn't get to grips with the track at all, even in the normally surefooted 906. Right from the start it was going to be a dull race for me, and then 7 laps in I had issues with the computer, resulting in a spin and hitting a wall.
After that, I just didn't have the will to carry on. Don't think I'll be racing at Istanbull again.

I should have practised more here, started to get some good momentum - by the last 5 laps, which is no good!
Grats to the winners, and everyone that finished.
In relation to points, on the ladder score board, why are points awarded and then not given, i.e entered in a lighter font and not added to the drivers current points total?
This has happend to me, (hey its only 5 points, and i know i'm probably classed as one of the backmarker drivers) but i just wondered why?

The individual ladders only score the best 4 of 6, hence the grey scores. The overall one is the best 6 of 9 (I think - click the scoring links on the standings to see the details). I noticed that the scores are calculated based on the absolute car rating and not on the relative car rating within it's class.
It makes no difference. The points you score are relative to the ratings of the cars you beat - by design, beating 10 Alfas in an Alfa gets you the same points as beating 10 Capris in a Capri. You do get more points for winning a race with more entrants, but IMO it's right and proper that that should be worth more.

I dont get this, the lap by lap chart shows me starting 9th and finishing 8th. I started in 12th and finished 9th...... is this related to the fact that this program does not work well with GTL?
