It's the race day. Smiley

I need remember restore the car pack to my computer as I already have progressed making update to car pack that will be released during summer break. Smiley

I am not exactly how big the update will be, but I can already tell you that Ford Capri will have real world based physics. It will be based on 1970 Cologne / Weslake engine 2397cc with real world gearbox ratios and final drives. A lot of them. While it loses some power and torque, it also loses some weight, as the BMW is actually 110kg underweight, I decided to reduce Capris weight same amount. So in twisted tracks it is already as fast as the original Capri RS2600, but a lot more fun to drive.

Sounds good Lasse. Highly appreciated.

If you need some help for testing, feel free to contact me.

Looking forward to tonight's race.
Never spent so much time for testing for a single race but fear that it will lead to a big disappointment  Tongue
as I'm still about 2.5 seconds slower in the Bellet than the AI-Bellets.

CU tonight

3 first laps were really bad for me. After that I drove on the level which I was in practice and qualifying. I did have some racing with clive, but about 10 laps I drove alone.

Yet, it was quite enjoyable. Smiley

Have a nice summer and see you in Zolder in August.

P.S. Keep following the championship thread during summer break. I will post news about the car pack update there when I make some progress. Smiley I also will post the race invitations for Zolder and especially for the Nurburgring 500kms early, so that  there's time to prepare yourself for that massive long race. Smiley

Phew, that was both exhilirating and a bit frustrating.
I didn't have much prep (see below) but well, it's Spa and there's a Mini for which I have -I think- an Ati setup, in any case a very good one. Things looked pretty good for a while when after a big pile-up with lotsa cars I found myself in 6th. There were both better drivers and better cars behind but the Mini was great and you never know. Leave it to me then to have a completely unnecessary spin only due to lack of focus which cost me 9.6 seconds and a ton of places. Pretty much the rest of the race I chased Matt and got close a few times but there was never a chance of an overtake. Only in the very last lap did everything came very close yet when -I suppose- Eifel had a bit of an off and Matt, Eifel and myself were battling it out until the very last meter:
Racetimes from the log:

Eifelblitz   0:44:28.007
MattR9   0:44:28.016
Dominick   0:44:28.324

9 thousands of a second (!) between Eifel and Matt after 15 laps of Spa and less than half a second for myself. Which is the reason I asked whether it would be possible to wait a little bit with congratulations and comments until everyone has finished. Sorry for the nagging but things were close and hectic till the last inch.

Congrats to the podiums and winners of divisions.  thumbup1

Here's how my prep went (and it's not a rare case).

Step1: Ah, it's garbage day
Voice in head: Erm, what day does that make?
Me: Erm, Monday
Voice in head: Does that ring a bell?
Me: Oh, there might be a race, better check: Yes, yes, there is.
Voice in head: What's the dumbest thing you can do now?
Me: Erm, fall asleep in the couch reading a book instead of testing a few cars.
Voice in head: Right, and what did you do?
Me: Erm, exactly that.
Voice in head: Okay, what's the first thing you did when waking up?
Me: Erm, forget about the time difference for the 1178th time.
Voice in head: Correct, so how much time did you have to prepare?
Me: <shyly> Almost none.
Voice in head: Right, and yet, it started well, no?
Me: Yes! I avoided many cars in an incident.
Voice in head: Yes, yes and what did you do then?
Me: <dejectedly> spin for no reason and lose all the advantage.
Voice in head: You'll never learn, will you?
Me: No....

Really nice to race at Spa, not done that track for a long, long time. Always been a huge favourite of mine.

Thought about going for the Escort 1300GT, but was a little concerned that the peakier engine would make it harder to balance the car in the off camber corners, so went for the TC instead.....can vary rarely resist an Escort, make of that what you will  drool eek

Anyway, joined and saw Markus setting fast laps already in practise, but not beyond my reach. And quali was close for a time, and could have been even closer at the end but I did encounter traffic on my 2 fastest laps, so was 4 or so tenths away from pole at the end of the session. My fast laps had given me confidence though.

Good start for Markus, but I had qualified with 3/4s of a tank of fuel in it, so felt I could stay with him. Didn't really need to as it goes, he made an error at La Source from the start, which gave me a run all the way to Les Coombes and I was through. Pushed like crazy on lap 1 to try to make a gap, and then watched the laptimes on lap 2 before pushing again. Found I had the pace to pull a small gap, thought it was possible Markus was saving tires for later, but a few laps in he was behind Dimitar. I pushed on again to stretch the lead, making a gap that was more easily defended if necessary, and brought it home.

Great fun, love lapping around Spa, always a challenge but very rewarding to get right .

Apologies to Dom and the rest of the guys that were still racing, typed and hit enter without thinking, still out of practise at some of this.....

Grats to all.

First of all i wanna say sorry for chatting before everyone have crossed the line.

It was great feeling once again in the NoGrip HTC Championship! Once again i had so much fun and clean, intense racing with Markus. He was a little bit faster on accelerating, maybe because of the 5-drive Escrort, as i had only 4 gears, but my car was definitely faster on the corners, especially at the Bus stop.

At the quali i was about to challenge Daz's time at the very end but unfortunately someone span at the Bus stop and i collided with him. Markus was o fast and i had no chance catching him and this is the reason i was surprised that we chased each other the hole race. The gap was always between few tents to 2 second. This time i didn't make even little mistakes as the car was absolutely brilliant. I was able to clean the oversteer with the setup and the tires worked great as well.

At the end i was able to stay clear in P2 just 4 tents ahead of Markus who was starting to find his pace with less fuel on board.

Congrats to Daz to be brilliant pace and performance and thank you to all that participated and made that event so fun and challenging.

At the start I didn`get the perfect exit out of Eau Rouge so it was easy for Daz to overtake me. Then he was 1 second  faster per lap than I was. I wasn`t focused enough, what had worked in the quali didn`t work anymore. And Dimitar came from behind, not making the slightest mistake. So it was just a question of time when he would catch me too. I wasn`t fast enough to overtake him, well done mate.
Grats to Daz for a fantastic performance, for Dimitar for the second place and Geoffers, Matt and Dom for the podium in the 1300 class.
Have a great summer and stay healthy!

@Dimitar: Your replays with commentary are fantastic, it is a joy to watch ;-) Thanks for that!

Thanks Markus! I really appreciate your words.

I have decent PC without counting the video card, so this is the reason for the non-HD  content. But the next day i was driving in a German GTR 2 league and i tested some different setting to the OBS program and now i have 1080p with GTR 2 and GT Legends and the frame drops are now gone.  Cool

In the recent days i have bought Assetto Corsa and DiRT Rally, so now i have them on the channel too. I really think the best is yet to come on the Turbo Racing's channel and i am determined to produce even better content.  angel

Get Project Cars 2, It's currently heavily discounted on Steam. Don't get Project Cars 3 though. It's an arcade fest.
