Hi, I hope it is truth , I saw that news in the EUROSPORT site, but we must be registered members (its free). Go to motorsport > wtcc and the advertisement will be in the upper right side of the screen. Cheers Rui

As mentioned in the other thread, Simbin say end of 2006 (so probably christmas). Personally I think it looks like it has MARCH 2007 written all over it, but we'll see. We'll get it when we get it. Really looking forward to it, even more than GTR 2 actually as they are new cars and I get to drive a Honda at Brands Hatch!

The track banners at this weekend's WTCC event in Turkey also say "November" in big letters so it must be true.

I'm confused, are both GTR2 and this published by Simbin? If they are, it doesn't make much sense to release them so close together, if indeed these dates are right. To be honest it makes me think about passing on GTR2 altogether if this is true.

We assume that Race/WTCC is built using the same engine as GTR2.
The WTCC cars are going to be very different beasts to the FIA GT cars. Personally I wish they could all be released as "mods" for rFactor (whose online system is now streets ahead) but if you can only afford to buy one you should really pick on the basis of which cars you want to drive. I'm 90% sure that Race's online will be exactly the same as GTR2's in all significant aspects.

Blimey! have written GTR 2. Simbin have written RACE.
What that means who knows. We have no idea what the collaboration between the two companies are.
I'm also looking forward to RACE more than GTR 2. I won't be passing on GTR 2, but given that it's GTR 1 just better, RACE is a whole new game, so of far more interest.

Must admit, I'm tempted to pass on GTR2 and participate in RACE, erm, races instead. I reckon that when the two companies split they would have had access to the same basic libraries that formed the basis of GTL and GTR2 but that individuals working on the code for RACE after that point will have introduced a few subtle differences which should make it feel even fresher.

I am really interested in this game, but even if it does come out in November I don't think I'll be getting it for the foreseeable future. I'm having enough trouble getting time in to practice/race on GTR(now 2)/GTL and fitting all the other commitments I've got. Hopefully I'll manage to thin those down a bit at which point I'll see where I'm at and go from there. Darn having all these fine sims around!

Try real racing as well - now that really sucks up all your time and money!
Which reminds me - Oulton Park on the 30th of this month. Better get out there, fix my exhaust wrapping and balance those carbs again!

I'm quite looking forward to this. Touring cars will be a bit different, I want to take them around Brands. The timing is quite good, by the time it's out I should have learned all the GTR2 tracks properly.

LOL. The rest of us will be lucky if GTR2 actually gets released before RACE at all.
