Championship Standings

Example Setups:

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the Euro and American Track Packs for this series (And maybe another
non pack track occasionally)
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

My first multiplayer simrace was fun, but I DNF'd after running out of fuel.

Must check tank before next race.

Thanks all.

Another race, another apology to make  oops

This time to Geoff, kept my foot in it out of Schlossgold when I should have made sure there was room to the back of Geoff's car, especially when I was trying to play the long game and didn't really have the pace to challenge. Apologies as I know that would have turned into a win.

Definitely think I need to chill for the race on Sunday after almost taking Markus out in TC Classics, taking Frex out on Formula Rookies and taking Geoff out tonight.

On plus side, welcome to Alix and Peter, was good to see a strong turnout!

Welcome to Alix and Peter Cox
I can't find Peter Cox or petercox in the list of registered drivers, so I have had to add you as "unknown" for the moment.

Great race, not enjoyed a Thursday so much for ages.  Grin
Great chase with Stephen and Birger until I was too eager on the throttle and tapped Birger into a spin
waited of course but it spoiled our 3 way battle  Embarrassed

LOL Alix. good graphic  lol lol lol

Welkom to Alex and Peter Cox

My experience was a liitle bit strange when i joined practice. Apparently i trained 220km from the race track @Salzburgring  oops Roll Eyes . So after a short trip today from salzburg to the Red Bull Ring in my Mercedes on the A10  Tongue i joined for a 30min practice session and used the default setup.

At the start Stephen had a bad start and i went directly 3 wide with the row in front of me, into T1 cathed Stephen and Martin. again good exit and went on the inside in T2 to catch Roger. Then pushed to follow the first group with Pete on the back, but i think i pushed a little too hard on the softs.

Luckily the first laps Stephen and Martin where in a fight so i could take 4/6sec. Slowly the two behind me chatched me and Stephen could easily overtake me after 1 round Stephen made a little mistake in T1, so i was at the bumper of Stephen in to T2. Stephen defended the inside so i went to the outside to try a cutback. In the exit when i went early on the throttle at the inside of T2 for the cutback, i felt my rear to go sideways and made a 180degr. Marvin had a good normal turn and i think he expected me to remain on the outside. (i could remain in the middle of the track but i didn't expected Martin so close. 200mtr before T2 i checked my mirror and you where well behind i thought).

I didn't expected you waited for me (had a little problem turning again the right way). I thought you would continued to fight with Stephen.

clap thx for the fairplay, but now yr race was also ruined and mistakes can happen (great FAIRPLAY  I Am Not Worthy ) -. I think you also waited to attack me again, until i had clean tires.

grts, and thx for the race

Welcome to the new guys, nice to see the size of the grids growing slowly Smiley

Thought my race was going to be quite boring with the qual gap of half a second either side of me but I managed to keep the tail end of the leaders in sight and lucked in to 5th for a while when I came across the stranded Geoff but he caught me and got back passed quite easily. With people fuel saving/running out I lucked in to 2 positions in the last couple of laps. My tyres weren't far off Alix's but it's was my rear tyres that were suffering worse.

No problem Glenn, these cars accelerate quite quick & it's easy to get caught out, I nearly did the same to Alix later in the race. Thanks for waiting at the end. thumbup1

That was a fun race from beginning to end. Chased Frex with Glenn close behind until my spin, then had great fun chasing down Pete & Alix who I managed to overtake at the same place on successive laps. Was catching Markus at the end but he was just too far ahead so I was happy with 4th until Glenn waited & Frex presumably ran out of fuel so lucked into 2nd at the end.

Grats to Markus & Glenn  clap clap, bad luck Frex Sad.

Interested to know how the new guys, Glenn, Birger, Alix & Peter got to hear about us. With our numbers currently rising, it would be great if a few of our Italian friends returned along with a few other old faces (John, Tudor, Mark etc), we could be pushing 20 drivers!

I heard about SimRacing.org.uk just by searching. But specifically I've been looking for some kind of managed multiplayer where the emphasis is on racing as-if-it-were-real-life, so proper penalties for excessive/ premeditated cutting, intentional damage to others, "unsafe" driving. Also, though I don't mind being slow (for now  Wink - you can see the laptimes), I didn't want to be a roadblock for others, so again a "mature" environment is desirable.

I've only just started Simracing again (after a gap of about 20 years) so I'm using a higher (but not highest) end laptop (but still, no graphics card - I'm relying on Intel CPU only), a 40" TV (which I also use as 2nd monitor for work), an X-rocker folding chair which I've had to adapt (not in a sophisticated way) for my frame and a Thrustmaster TX458 wheel/ pedal set. My laptop limits me to specific games, I've currently got RRE, PC2 and GTL. RRE is my current favourite as it feels the most realistic. I looked in the multiplayer servers on RRE, tried a couple but got rear ended badly fairly early on. Maybe it was my fault, I don't know. But that set me off looking for organised leagues/ password protected servers/ managed race series that had good ping from my location and (to start with) were UK based.

SROU was the first place I came across where I felt comfortable ("least nervous") about joining an online race. Luckily, RedBullRing is one of the tracks I've practiced in RR3, but hadn't tried the 95 c-Klasse until yesterday. I decided to stick with the default setup.

Still, look at the laptimes  Embarrassed. I'm a country mile off the pack so first I'm searching the web for videos showing brake/ turn points, gear selections. I'm looking for videos on RedBullRing (for reference against my own experience) and Mantorp (which I think is the next SROU race open to me and again it's to help practice so I'm less of an obstacle for others  Smiley ). After that, if time allows I'll get into setups.

Specific q about last nights race - should I have checked the fuel status before the race OR should I have fuel-saved during the race OR both/ other?
