Thanks all,  that was very entertaining (apologies Axel / Bastian!).

I have very recently stumbled across/downloaded Olaf's Replay Director option for GEM & watched most of the replay.  Lots of action!

Good to see a full grid & quite the mix of cars; with the Honda & Matra in-fighting.

Thanks Axel & sorry to hear you missed out like that (especially from your own hosted race).

Otherwise, I'd call that event a success!

Firstly, apologies to the Matra that I ran into the back of on the starting grid. I braked as soon as I realised the car in front had a very slow start but I couldn't prevent the collision.
I only realised that it was 68's at Monza at 8.40 & qualifying started at 8.45. I've been playing around with set-ups & managed to find a balance for the BT26 that avoided losing the back end under braking that I had at East London. What I didn't have time to fine tune the wing setting & gearing to maximise speed at Monza, especially with the draft.
It will take a little longer to tame this car set but I am getting to like them.

Great to see so many drivers on the grid, and also so many different cars  Grin

Axel should have taken my place on the grid for this race. He had organised it and attracted a full grid of 19 cars, but when he left the server to turn on Teamspeak his place was filled.
If I had known that my race was going to be screwed by lack of practice with these cars and, more importantly, a FPS that refused to get above 30 and was sometimes as low as 12!! I wouldf have quit!! At times it was almost impossible to predict where the car was, or was about to be??? Eventually I had to admit defeat and walk back to the pits  Undecided Apologies to those unfortunate souls who found themselves behind a Honda that did not know where it was going at times!!

I have tried various ideas to force my PC to run at 60 fps, but there is something between IGOR and the server that blocks me. Joining via the IP address is more reliable for me and I should have used that method last night.

Apologies to those unfortunate souls who found themselves behind a Honda that did not know where it was going at times!!

I thought that was standard Honda behaviour?

My race went sour at the start when my FR dropped off the scale. My total concentration ( what little i have these days ) was focused on avoiding the cars around me as I played out what looked like a 1920's movie only in colour .
I didn't see the Armco until it was too late  Roll Eyes  After that I was playing the catch up game but Prib wasn;t helping , showing false data,  so never really knew who was in front or who behind ,
I slowed to let at least 2 cars through thinking they were leaders instead of the same lap as me .

I feel a P.C. upgrade is on the cards for these high res locations , fr problems with Spa & Brands HR versions are 2 others that come to mind  escp. with full grids .

My frame rate was fine throughout the race, although it is quite a new PC.

Bernie - are you signing up for Season 37??

Billy it was my fault. I had some fps drop with a full grid so I shut down Pribluda su spare some fps and when I engaged first I wasn't aware that it didn't, so when the flag dropped I revevd and released the clutch but nothing happened and passed a couple of seconds to realize to be still in neutral. Luckily for me Phil did a great work to stop right behind me, but cars ahead behind had less luck and many of them crashed trying to avoid me and Phil locked down. Sorry all.
After we finally started had to avoid Bernie's Lotus relict crossing the track on his roof  Shocked but alll went well till Para when the leaders pack went to play in the sand, and so on the following two laps  Huh Roll Eyes so at the end of the end of third lap I was in third position with a good gap from the following cars and a nice draft by the car ahead. Soon after David R catched me and passed, my car was one of the slower cars on the straight without draft, but I had set 5th to stay in the draft without overreving so begun a long battle with David for 4th position in all the sector of the track. We did many times Para side by side without touch each other, almost every lap we passed each other on the s/f straight or Lesmo1 till I asked too much to my Cooper passing him at Grande at 5 laps to go, I touched the rail and lost it loosing some position, soon after had an off at Para defending my position ao I finished only 10th, not the deserved one.  Sad
Anyway a great race, only I was shocked by too many Para's crashes by leaders... Roll Eyes

Fulvio,
It was a similar story at East London with many cars falling off the track in the first few laps. Perhaps it wasn't so easy to find the brake point in Para with the new track but in my opinion the default set ups are more unstable on cold tyres than with other mods.

Clive, was a bit hilarious when you crashed in the pits at start cause my lock watching replay from your cockpit. There were Marcello Mastroianni and Monica Vitti, two of most famous italian actors of sixty, watching you with interlocutory expression on their face  Grin
Sorry again

Not really, just parted with a rather large wedge of cash in PC world.

Todays problem is  W10...

It eats 75% of a PC's ressources,
if you do not turn off all the 25 little helpers that are waiting for your cellphone or projector or music downloader or whatever,
for playing GPL only little power is left.

I stripped down a W10 to the essentials and it cost me a full days work.
Now it's as rank as a XP or W7, but you never know, if it still works as before
when they decide to "UPDATE" everything with their banana software....
Worse
If you do not prevent them to "update" your NVidia or AMD GPU driver they automatically remove the recent and install a horrible old beta driver...

A new Linux mint 20 on a little office PC - i3 CPU + a low end GPU and an empty SSD
I install the complete OS fully updated + Firefox + Office + NVidia driver + wine + GPL with GEM  -  running GPL Monza within 35 minutes!
Here the proof with a NVidia GT 1030 passive GPU -> http://srmz.net/index.php?showtopic=13244&st=20#entry148927

DL the little video live recorded while keyboard driving with 19 AI in Monza!
