Fun race but the track was really brutal. Tiny, fast and bumpy.

Race 1 was a lot of fun, even if a did a disaster on quali I managed to start ok and gained few places. Then I started a really fun battle with Mark. Really enjoined that mate!

Race 2 was a shit at the start. I did well at lights out but I was stuck in the traffic at the chicane, so I had to go wide and restart from the back. Then I passed few cars until I got behind Bogomolech. It was an hell of a race, I was gaining a bit on sector 1 and 2 but he had a better exit on the hill corner. On the last lap we did the parabolic and the right corner side by side. We then touched.
I lost a bit the rear of the car there and you were squeezed too much, sorry Bogo my bad there... it was a really fun fight thought. Smiley

the bit where you teleported into my grid slot right as the lights went red
I saw that live in my mirrow, was quite odd.

this sucks guys. had to re do some settings  on the rift between races, only to receive a drive through you cant take on this track! Ruined it for me. quite pissed off really.
Not sure if I will do next race.

AC doesn't issue drive throughs for anything other than jump starts? Unless you got it for that strange incident with Max in race 2 then it's something like the PLP app which you can ignore/disable.

I can't explain the 2 cars, one grid slot instance. I've run loads of races against the AI here with no issues on the grid before.
The even stranger part is the order in the 2nd race - I've just checked the server files and it was set to a full reversed grid. I can only assume that anyone who didn't finish is automatically put at the back as Kai started behind me and had run out of fuel on the last lap. Maybe it'll make sense when I import the results..
Depending on how messed up they are and what Stefan/Max's views are we may have to re-run this at the end of the season on my dodgy updated version of the track (working pit lane and hopefully no chance of multiple grid occupancy).

Darren - you were hit initially as a result of someone making a mistake we've probably all made at some point (I have) - in the final contact you'd moved left into the double file line of traffic still passing the incident so it's hardly fair to blame the car that hit you on that.
Yes it's rubbish luck, but it does happen - probably even in iRacing every now and then.
Additionally, as has been said for years (And continually ignored for some reason in AC) if incidents aren't reported then they won't be investigated. Drivers with poor standards won't be punished and nothing gets better. In GPL being a mod was hell because we all actually use the system - and it works! Circuits like this and even more awkward tight tracks can be used with almost no worry of L1 pile ups because people have learnt the hard way that risks aren't worth the punishment if they can't carry something off..

As for my races they were very frantic again. I got a good start and a lucky (and cheeky) pass on Fabri in the 1st lap. I then had several fights with Kai through the remainder of the race - it looked like he would eventually steal 2nd but then he ran out of fuel with half a lap to go and I very nearly rammed him as I was so close!

Race 2 was looking good for a guaranteed 2nd, maybe even first after I finally passed Kimi (please pay attention to your mirrors/position markers, you kept driving people off track and onto grass when they were beside you). Then I lost the back end oddly just before the hills and span into the wall while in clear air - I rejoined in 6th but only had time to re-pass Mark and Fred before the clock ran out.

Looking at the results I think AC might put anyone a lap down or DNF at the back - *edit - the manual states retired drivers are automatically placed at the back*.
So the grid was correct aside from the Max/Stefan bug - which may have been AC itself - Stefan finished 9th in race 1 and Max should have started 9th in race 2. I don't know if that's a co-incidence or not given that 8th/9th (8.5th) is mid grid from the race 1 starting numbers.
As said Max/Stefan - I'd like your input on this round. It's bad enough if you've been in an accident, but having a bug destroy a round utterly before you've started isn't even something you could conceivably avoid.

The 2nd race will need it's starting positions edited manually once I find out how to do it, and once I've gone through the replay to see who actually started where - LM2 is pretty damn clever, but not that clever.

First off congrats to Syd on his first podium and win here on srouk, well done mate  thumbup1

Other than the comedy start routine for both races, (I thought I saw a message from Tim saying we should follow each other through the chicane? - but some totally ignored it if so). I enjoyed both rounds with some fun chasing and racing  and the odd error thrown in by many. Made for eventful action and I quite liked the track.

Finished 6th in both races which seemed a fair representation of my pace here (or lack of)  Tongue Coukd have been 5th in both races but a mistake in each cost me a place towards the end.  Cry
Good fun once again, well done podium and all finishers  Smiley

I already wrote it off as a game bug, they happen sometimes and that's life, no big deal  Smiley

Race 1 was going well till I passed Fabri and promptly outdrove myself straight into the tyres at quite a speed. I spent the rest of the race with some heavy damage and was surprised to be 4th, unlucky Kai!

I said that if people chose to abort the chicane at the start due to congestion then that would be fine so long as they didn't gain advantage - i.e. rejoined behind the car they had been behind before the chicane and without a speed advantage. Race on if you went through though obviously!

I've not watched the replay for more than a check of Syd and Darren's contact and the pileup that followed, but the cars in the background didn't seem to be flouting it too badly from what I could see.

I somehow really struggled tonight with regard to my laptimes, I was able to post a 1.14.4 last night but I forgot which setup it was so I kept fumbling with the setup to no avail!

In race 1 I think I fell on Syd after his moment at the start, sorry I could not avoid you there mate, and I got some slight damage, a couple of mistakes during the race but it was a fairly quiet one.

In race 2 I think I was 4th or 5th, I had a decent getaway but keeping the fast guys behind was never going to be easy. There was a moment where I'm not sure if I'm at fault or not, upon entering the very fast left corner there were two cars on each side behind me, can't remember who was on the left but Tim was on the right and he run out of road ending up in the gravel. I'm not sure if I left enough space there, I hope I did and your understeering into the gravel was not my fault, apologies if it was! After that people in front kept making mistakes so I managed to get some positions due to their misfortunes.

Then I passed few cars until I got behind Bogomolech. It was an hell of a race, I was gaining a bit on sector 1 and 2 but he had a better exit on the hill corner. On the last lap we did the parabolic and the right corner side by side. We then touched.

No need to apologise mate! I think it was just a racing incident, I know I braked too late there so I had some part in our spin as well! Luckily we both did a 360 so we didn't lose a lot of time! It was an amazing battle though and I really enjoyed it Grin Grin Grin

I blamed no one in my post.  I just stated I didn't want to waste anymore of my time in this series because it's luck if you make it to the first corner unscathed.

I was actually hit 4 times (twice by the first car).  FACT!!!

The 2nd and 3rd hits spun my car around, leaving my car pointing to the left and rolling forward.  In an effort to get out of the way I had my steering wheel hard to the right.  So for you to suggest I moved left is completely unfair!!!

Yes people make mistakes, but there are a lot of people making the same mistakes every week.  If you see cars spinning in front of you, SLOW DOWN!!!  Looking at the replay the majority of cars behind me kept their throttle pinned.

Good luck and goodbye!!!

Here's a replay of the race. After I took the lead, I switched the camera to follow the fight for second. There is a little celebration at the end Smiley

Excellent races, lots of fun and great fights.

In Race 1 I started very well, but there is no room to go with two cars wide into the chicane, so I lost a bit of acceleration for the next straight and one position. Then Tim passed me with a great and impressive pass. My race pace was not so good because I had some little damage on front wing (maybe a small contact on the start) and my car was understeering on fast corners. I finished 3rd because Kai ran out of fuel during the last lap, he was very unlucky.

Race 2 was even more adrenalinic. Intense wheel-to-wheel battles! Sorry Lorenzo for the small contact (fortunately without any consequences). I did a good 2nd place, Tim was a bit unlucky losing the rear end.

I don't know what happened behind, but the fights in front were very correct.

Congratulations again, Syd! And also Lorenzo for the pole and win in race 1.

PS: next track is wide and easier, there will be less mess. angel

Not completely, there was a fair bit of not leaving people racing room and being run off track, there is no skill in holding a position like that.

That said there was fun to be had.

Fantastic evening for me, got 1rst place and 3rd place, i really love this track and probably i was lucky to find a good setup.

I had many hard fights in the second race, but all within the limits of fairness.

If you want to look at some action.....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ru1YrlB19c4&t=1596s

Wd Syd and other guys on the podium

No complaints from me, I was fiddling with my setup menu to work out fuel and only saw the last line of your text saying follow through the chicane. Panicked thinking I’d missed a race message about rolling start through the chicane so I took it easy off the line in both races to avoid incidents. Cost me a place or two but also meant I didn’t get collected in those other start line mishaps.  Tongue

I liked this track, reminded me of Cadwell park. The start line chicane reminded me of a track day I did at Monthlery. They put it there to reduce speeds outside the pits and give spectators something to see! But annoying as a driver!
