Race 1 went better than expected given the Estonia's pace on fast circuits, I was actually surprised to stay with Lorenzo and Fabri for as long as I did!

Race 2 started well, right up to the point where I was spun around in the final corner after leaving room on my inside for a car who'd entered the previous straight slower.
To add to the insult they neither waited or allowed an easier pass when I re-caught them a lap later - I think I'm probably going to report that, if for no other reason than to actually try and get the court system used through example.

Another night of good racing in these cool single seaters on a good track.
Somethings not quite gelling with me on the setup or overall pace and still not unlocked it over 3 races  Undecided Even an extra hour practising today only yielded half a second to keep me firmly midfield in the 1.38’s.

Race 1 was mostly a corker with plenty of racing and action. I had a terrific battle with Barone for 2nd race running. I kept 5th for ages but a couple of scruffy corners allowed him a good run on me and he was passed. With only a few laps to go I chased him hard and close but in one of the turns he got out of the throttle unexpectedly and being so close on his tail I couldn’t avoid clipping a rear wheel which span us both  Sad I waited for him to re-pass and lost a place to another car. I was still all over his car when I ran out of fuel on the 2nd to last corner  Cry crappy end to a great race.

Race 2 I was right at the back for some reason. Avoided several spills and gained some places, but tangled with Kimi in T1 whilst chasing closely, just had no way to avoid him when he got out of the throttle at high speed. Had a lonely race to 7th I think with too big a gap to the front crew.

Not happy I had 2 contacts tonight but honestly could not avoid either. Because these cars are momentum racers you need to be glued to the guy you are racing and if they suddenly get out of shape or off the gas it’s hard to avoid them. Plenty of fun racing though  Smiley

The fight was really a blast. Enjoyed every seconds of it.
But honestly we weren't that close when you hit my rear, I didn't feel that slow but there was space (a car at least) between you and me anyway. That was my feeling also looking at the replay Smiley

But then for me to close that car sized gap mid corner you must have suddenly slowed?  Undecided  Not sure how it happened in heat of battle to be honest but wasn’t intentional as that’s not my thing.  Smiley

I'm not saying that you did it on purpose. I was just saying that there was space.

Looking forward for the next battle anyway Wink

Race1: the fight with Fabri was really tough, his pace was very fast and was really hard to keep 1rst position throughout  the race, every lap was a qualifying lap.

Race2: tried to stay away from trouble and got a nice 2nd position.

Best Regards

Driving standards are getting worse here and need to be sorted out. There are some drivers who race with no consideration for others who repeatedly cause incidents. The vast majority of us race cleanly and do our best to avoid causing incidents but end up being caught up in them anyway. There seem to be incidents on lap 1 of every race lately and most of these are avoidable.  It's come to the point where drivers are leaving championships and the enjoyment and the racing is suffering as a result.

I've just put in an incident report, can't remember the last time I did that but it was certainly a long time ago. I shall continue to report anything in future which involves me and I urge others to do the same.

Think I saw you get clattered off last night GT. Using VR you can really see about you (didn’t seem to help me last night  Embarrassed ) but normally does. I keep seeing cars move over sideways into cars alongside them which seems to point at lack of spatial awareness. Are there still drivers not using radar or crew chief? Should almost be compulsory for MP racing of any kind. On a track as wide as that last night, moving sideways into someone seemed totally unnecessary.  Undecided

It's more than that though MJ. Take a look at the replay of lap 1 race 2  Roll Eyes We either report it or we put up with it and it caries on. I'm not putting up with it until drivers sort themselves out or they clear off elsewhere!

well that's why FMG and me beforehand keep asking racers to report people for bad conduct otherwise they don't learn or suffer for their ways. I have noticed a couple of repeat offenders but not for me to pass judgement.  detective  But do think it should be made compulsory about using the radar app or crewchief as some seem to drive with horse-blinkers on.  Grin

Race 1.   Made a great start and gained a couple of places, but I couldn't hold them and as the laps went by I dropped to 5th then 6th, struggling with the car not behaving, then it all went to poop.  Got lucky Huh at the end when Mark ran out of fuel and gained one place to finish 7th...

Race 2.   Again made a great start - this time from 7th, managed to find my way through the traffic safely and had P1 exiting the Hairpin(T5)  Shocked   I'd tweaked the setup between races and it definitely helped, the car was not trying to kill me in turns now but still slow over a lap. Jari was following me closely for quite a few laps and then suddenly dropped back a bit which left me with some breathing space for a while. With ~5 laps to go Lorenzo had worked his way up to 2nd and was around 5s behind, and I knew he was going to catch me before the flag. He did, coming into T1 on the last lap he was right on my tail but I managed to stay in front all the way round the lap until the last turn, where he got a nice exit and had the run on me.  I tried to guess which way he would go and put him off the idea of passing, but he had the speed and I had to let him go for it and wait for the photo...   it was close but I got it by about a meter in the end, phew!    1 more lap and I'd have had no chance Wink

Bizarrely last night's races ware the cleanest from my point of view so far. However that was probably as I was so slow the only cars I saw generally was those in the gravel, generally 2 at a time so I guess their races weren't that clean. Everyone was very good coming past without causing mayhem but then I didn't fight any place as there really was no point.

I've got Crew Chief working in RRE and it's really quite good but so far I've failed miserably to get it to work in AC  Cry

I like this track (I already raced here with the Estonia 21) and my car was fantastic here, except on the internal kerbs that made her damn dangerous.

Qual: I made a fairly decent first lap, then I had the chance to improve it and take the pole-position, but I always made a few small mistakes at every lap. So I still qualified second behind Lorenzo also here.

Race 1: I started very well and took the lead but on fast left corner I touched the kerb and I was near to die, but I managed to control the car somehow, losing the 1st position. Then I followed Lorenzo for the whole race, one second behind. We had the same pace, so I was not able to close the distances.

Race 2: my start was good also this time, but I lost some positions and time for avoid a small mess at T2 during first lap. I was quite worried because at half race I was still in 11th position.
Then suddenly I saw the whole group of cars practically paired (like a group of cyclists). I imagined that this was a very dangerous situation. It just that at that time Tim was touched (not his fault) and has created a bordel.
At the end of the race I fought with Jari for the third position and we had a contact at last corner, an unfortunate race accident, which made us lose some time and a position. I finished 3rd.

I read that many complained about the many contacts, not that the TCR series was much better, perhaps they forgot about it. Certainly some contacts can be avoided, using greater caution (it's not just a matter of APPs and radar therefore). It should be considered that virtual racing takes away a bit of the "fear effect" and therefore a little of prudence.
In any case, I have not seen bad things, mostly unlucky cases, at least as far as I have seen, and I can say (after more than 100 races here) that the pilots in the top positions are really very correct.

I am not a fan of close battles, I prefer to fight against my car, more than with other pilots. This also as a spectator, and that's why I like the old F1.
People first want battles and then complain about them (see also current F1). People are strange.  angel
