Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Cars allowed: Abarth 1000TC, Alfa Romeo GTA, Austin Mini Cooper S, Lotus Cortina

Note: Driver's can only choose one car make per race. Applies to Round's 3, 4 & 5.

RACE ONE - CUP STAGE B, Round 3

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (10 mins)
Race: 20:30 (15 laps)

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: To score points in this series you must complete over 50% of the overall race distance.

Three fun races, especially the Hockenheim race, a great battle with Dimitar, which unfortunately came to an end with me spinning on the penultimate lap.

Congrats to Daz on his win & podiums & to Dimitar & Dan on their podiums.  clap clap clap

One comment after watching DD's video. At Mondello there appeared to be contact between Daz & me at T1 on lap 3 which pushed Daz wide. From my car I was far from Daz's car when it did a little shimmy as though it received a bump although I did notice it at the time. So apologies if some latency caused it Daz.

I think it was a lock up that sent me wide Geoff, but I will check my replay.

3 good events, close racing for the main part.

Magny was a case of the pace Geoffers being able to run at just being a little quicker than I could manage in the Tina, was pedalling for all I was worth but Geoff was just too quick to catch up to, especially in the final sector. Looked like it was shaping up to be a good battle with Dimitar, but he span away on lap2 or 3. I still think your overtake was OK by the way Dimitar, but I appreciate your fair play on moving back across to let me through.

Mondello was always going to be more difficult, the Mini just has more pace than the Abarth, I just prefer driving the latter. Was frankly gobsmacked at the laptime I got in quali, was 3 tenths faster than when I had practised. Did my part of the bargain with Dan and got first from the line, and he was doing me a favour by getting in Geoffers way which I was very grateful for, but then he span off at the end of lap 1. I knew there was no way I could hold Geoff off, so was unsurprised that he closed and passed with ease. I am not a fan of Mondello in any layout in all honesty, and the Mini was just too fast to hold off, and Dimitar also found a way passed me. I tried to keep the pressure on him but he was able to hold me off with relative ease.

Hockenheim was going to be Alfa time, not driven it for eons. Found some rhythm, and some pace, and managed to take pole. Jumped off the line with Geoff in hot pursuit, but I was able to hold on for lap 1, and then had enough pace to pull a gap, helped by Geoffers and Dimitar having fun behind me.

All good fun, was my first proper outing for the new wheel, so was happy to get online.
