These are in the next 3 series, and I will spend some time choosing appropriate tracks, as in - ones I can drive them at Roll Eyes
No real experience with the 2005 Merc, but I think it's a fairly friendly beast, so that should be easier to plan for.

@Bill: Happy Birthday from me too
I never felt comfortable or fast in this car on this track. So the pole was surprising for me. In the first lap I struggled a lot with the cold tyres, but they slowly became warmer and grippier. I followed the train of the fast guys, but all of you seemed to have the same problems I had. So after a while I was in P2 and could fight with Toni. That was fun and in the end I could overtake him. A totally unexpected win for me.
Grats to Frex and Geoff and all of you for a great season. Special thanks to Matt for organizing all this stuff.

There are noises from the devs suggesting corrections to ffb might be coming soon but I'm not holding my breath.

I would say they need a rethink on the physics of these cars. They used to be real easy to drive (yes perhaps too easy) but since the physics update they are now too tricky. I must admit to only having tried the M3 so maybe the others are a little easier, but the M3 is just so easy to make mistakes with, particularly on the brakes. I can live with the tendency to oversteer on corner exit, but even with brake pressure turned down to 80% it is all too easy to lock the brakes. I also find the tyre temps most perplexing, it appears the more I drive the car the colder the tyres get, what is that all about Huh. Maybe I am setting the car up all wrong. Undecided

Couldn't remember where I read about the ffb issues but searched and found this from one of the beta testers which perhaps as you suggest points more to a tyre problem......

Re the rear sliding and recovery, I know Alex has been doing a lot of work on the tyres in this area, improving the feel at and over the limit. I don't know when these improvements will make it into the public game and which cars they will be applied to but I can say that the ability to catch slides and recover the car is much improved. Watch this space.

Either way, the net result is that I find Raceroom undrivable on the limit these days  Sad

The GT-R is much easier to drive Geoff and offers good traction and power. The car is heavy and the brakes are poor compared with the other cars but as long as you don't get too greedy with braking points you shouldn't have too many issues.

Depending on the track carrying too much speed into corners can provoke four wheel drifts and too much speed over kerbs can put the car on two wheels (or it's side as I did last night) but generally the braking performance is the main challenge.

I'd probably give the M3 a go next time but only because the R32 GT-R and E30 M3 are two of my favourite cars ever made.
