Accident between Francesco and Markus on lap 6.

Markus was following Francesco very closely on a difficult part of the track, just before Moss corner.

Markus rearended Francesco. Other drivers were unlucky victims too.

Assuming the fact, Markus was 6 seconds a lap quicker than Francesco, he should have wait a better place to overtake and have been more cautious.

Wow. Been a LONG time. Biggest concern was keeping out of the way. I have not been able to practice and I was SLOW. So Qually in clean air concentrating on getting a driveable, non-twitchy car. Just about did that and I was not too despondent about finishing last. Looked to the right and saw the flag go down and hit throttle and... nothing. No idea why but I had to take my feet off everything re-set the gear and get going. Ah well. At least I wouldn't get in the way. Until I got round the corner and found a green car on the line. Clumsy attempt to avoid and Phil had disconnected. Oops. Sorry mate. Did ten very slow laps and kept out of the way of those leaders. Hoped to stay away for about 8 laps but clipping a kerb and the bad start put paid to that. Took Bob about three laps to catch me... Did 9 or ten laps and then the steering wheel fell off. Literally. Plus I was knackered.

Nice to be back. I hope to improve to bad...

Friedrich, unfortunately I looked in the rearview and I saw a blue Brabham, and it was Ricardo Silva's car

I apologize for my imbecility, it wasn't out of malice, i know i made a mistake

After a few more laps, there was a crash, I braked but I couldn't stop the car, I hit Villiers.

A few more spins, Molteni missed, me to not hit him, I put the car off the track and even so I ended up hitting him.

I decided to stop, so as not to end anyone else's race

Race to forget, once again, forgiveness to everyone that I ended the race, since now, I accept the punishments, I don't know what they are

Sorry Dulima but i was slow not only for the weight of the fuel but also for a spin few seconds before.

Not too bad.. at least I had a finish.

Shame you had wrong setup Francesco, because you were driving really well and for a while we had some great laps.

Hey, Dulima, no problem from my point of view.  it seems a narrow track to me and its easy to touch . no harm done to me. I think I also may have touched Friedrich, again my opologies if I did...all the cars were very close and its a difficult but fun track

lots of places where you are cresting blind hills and blind corners. many you have to fully commit too just to make sure you can make them.  but once commited your unable to take any evasive action.

but congrats to the podium and all finishers especially to Billy for the great win mate.

I enjoyed it and also hope I didnt get in anyones way while i was hogging the rear gunner position.

Cheers, Paul

What a race, pretty messy for me.

@Dulima
I think our incident at the start was bad luck. Didn't get off the spot well so you accelerated faster towards the corner. Even if I left you space it was a risk to go for the inside. I wasn't 100 percent sure you saw me and knew that I was there. I guess thinks like this happen. Next time I will be more cautious if I have a bad get away.

Later (lap six) I collided with someone in turn 4 when I tried to make up the lost positions. I just overtook Villiers going down the hill into the corner and I misjudged the braking point of the next driver, Molteni, directly ahead of me. So unfortunately I run into his back and I spun. Of course Villiers had no where to go. And I think Dulima ended up in a rear-end collision as our cars occupied the whole track. Apology for all this.

After that I had a great recovery and no more incidents. Due to some disconnections and mistakes of other drivers I was able to finish third. Just a few laps more and we could have had a great fight for second and first place.

Thanks everyone for the race!

I decided to take the Cooper here since raw speed doesn't matter so much as other tracks. To my astonishment I turned a 1:23.33 in qualifying, a PB in the Cooper by 1.2 seconds. That put me no better than 6th on the grid, and to make matters even worse I was just ahead of Doni and Dave. I figured if everything went well, I might be looking at an 8th overall finish. But, of course, turn #1 would have a say in the matter, and when the dust had cleared, I was sitting in 4th by the second turn, watching Bob, Ricardo, and Billy quickly walk away. Doni and Dave were right behind me. I managed to hold them off somehow for the first 13 laps, then made a little bobble coming out of Moss and the two went by me as if they were in a hurry.

Now I sat 6th, and for the next four laps I felt Markus behind me in the distance but growing ever nearer. I thought he must have gotten caught up in the L1/T1 disaster but most not have hurt his car very badly. Little did I know that he'd wound up on his roof, reset, and continued. On L18 I mishandled the high-speed hump horribly and wound up smacking the fence hard enough for me to do a quick F10 view to see if I still had all my wheels. I'd gained a place to 5th when Bob stuck himself on a fence on L17 but on L19 Markus overtook me and stuffed me back to 6th. That's where I finished, managing to stay out of further trouble.

I'd like to make a comment about possible misclassifications. It did seem a little strange to see the guys who qualified 1st and 2nd on the grid with 1:22s --- nearly a full second ahead of my PB at Mosport in an Eagle --- each taking a SHFT-R during the race with a stop-n-go.   Shocked

Thank you for your words but so far I am not satisfied with my maneuver

You were not to blame, was in your line perfectly, had nothing to do to escape my collision

Again, I apologize for my lack of attention, I was glad you finished third

Maybe if it weren't for my reckless maneuver, we will have done a good battle

I promise this will never happen again

Really quite thrilled and surprised to find I finished P2 in this round.  Last I looked at my pit board, I was P3 and very pleased with that considering a P8 start.  Further glances in the last laps were only to tell me how far ahead of David I was and lastly, Markus, who was closing in rapidly.

Hearty congratulations to Billy on scoring the win.  Great job!  I bemoan the 10 seconds I lost on Lap07 when I had to swing way wide to miss Pepe who got all crossed-up in T3.  Just caught the grass verge but that was enough to spin me out.  Grrr...

Bad luck off the start for Markus and Eddie with a nasty collision in T1.  Poor Andreas went off track to miss the carnage and for his pains, got a blown engine to be out on the spot.  Phil hardly made the S/F line as a collision at the rear of the grid had him turn turtle.  Not a mile in the books and two top guns eliminated.  Sad

I settled in behind Pepe's Cooper and just waited for an opening.  Despite the power of the BRM, he marched away coming off the hairpin and I could do nothing to threaten.  Lap 07 and Pepe got it all sideways in T3 as noted above and I paid the price.

Enraged after my spin, I put on a charge to march back up the order as others fell to greater grief.  Bob had the race in the bag til two offs in T8 set him back with the last having him stuck fast in the fence and requiring a reset to resume on Lap17.  Correct me if I'm wrong and I hate to bring this up but as a 'works' driver, I think that he's subject to a DQ for that, no?

Ricky took charge at that point and looked solid for the win til he had an off.  This put Billy up into the lead and he never looked back.  Again, well done, Billy.

You're right Pepe (apart from my qual time, which was in the 1:21s  Grin), I should be DQ'd as a works driver, can you please remove me from the results, David?  I honestly wasn't 100% sure of the rule after a couple of seasons out and for the first 30 secs or so didn't consider Shift +r.  I still had a blast storming round trying to catch back up after being nearly a lap down.  I can't really complain about getting stuck being that it was my second off at that point, just seemed to get a bit wide and that was it.

My Cooper was a treat to drive and after what I assume was a pile-up behind me at the start I had a substantial lead so I settled into a comfy pace, short shifting to save the engine and generally not trying to push.  That was the theory anyway.  After my first off I struggled to get the car back to the track (how schoolboy) but amazingly did so still in the lead and after a steady lap I started to pull a gap again.  Then the second off at the same place!  I think I'd rather rip a wheel off than get stuck like that...kind of knew I was stuck but had to try and reverse out of it.  My attempts to up the pace resulted in a few more moments which more than nullified my efforts and at the flag Pepe was only a second or two ahead...not that it mattered!

Grats on the win Billy, thanks for the racing, see you next time, Bob.
