:'( Once again a stonker of a quali for me, a PB to boot, reckon it would have been a good fight for the entire race, I may be able to race next week, it all depends on my shifts.
Hope you all had a good one.

Got a bit confused after practice (missed most of it) - saw "next session - Race" and thought - "crap - that was qualifying and now we're in warmup" ....

.....needless to say I forgot there was no warmup, and wewere in qualifying.  Just got beaten by Jonzo, and proceeded to follow him round for 8 laps, until he lost the back end.  Then he was following me for a couple ... until I lost it coming out of the old hairpin (great job missing me by the way), at which point Shark blew by.  After a little while Shark got past Jonzo, and I followed him again (notice a pattern) until he spun.  Another spin let him past, and then I cocked up the last lap losing another place.

It was great to be battling for the full 40, shame about the end but that's life.

Really enjoyable race all in all.

Qualified 5th, much better than I was expecting. Race start was good except for the silly sausage who hadn't read the announcement properly and did a standing start. Pff.

Had a solid 5th place finish in the bag and had a real sniff of 4th as Radius looked like he was struggling with his tyres even more than I was, but then stupidly put on too much power over the bumps in the middle of Goddards and spun, dumping myself behind PRibeiro and without enough left in me or the car to get back past.

T'was good while it lasted. Roll Eyes

Well that was hard. Just found it hard to get anywhere near the pace. Even Gizmo easily beating me on pace. Shocked Shocked Tongue Started 9th and looked like it was going to be a lonely affair with me being quicker than guys behind but not able to keep up to the guys in front.

Well 1 or 2 laps in and sawing so much at the wheel was making my monitor wobble horrible on the desk and the power lead just nudged enough out of the monitor for it to go off. This was like having my eyes poked out. Driving completely blind I tried to pull over and off.  helpsmilie Got up pushed the lead back in again and monitor was on. Found myself parked at the side of the track, so not bad. Hope I didn't get in anyone's way when this happened. Lost about 20 seconds on that lap and was dead last. Rest of the race was basically picking up all the 6 positions I lost back to where I started, which was actually quite enjoyable, had some fun terrorising MarkJ before getting past and eventually getting back up to Rob and with the power of the Healey was able to outdrag him on one of the straights.

Was really interesting having GTL PD monitor running on my other computer's monitor. It showed my tyres at the end were only 7% worn which makes sense with me feeling in any GTL race I've ever done that the tyres feel exactly the same at the end as the start practically. Where others complain of wear, I don't get it, just my driving style I guess.

I'm really not getting to grips with how to set these cars up. I've tried radically different things to find something that works and nothing does. I'm unable to stop wheels locking under brakes no matter what i do with brake balance and pressure, I just don't get it.

I did a PB during qually, but it wasn't enough. Grats to Baracus for a great pole time.
At the end of qually I realised there was a Team Shark Healey livery, so I felt like left out in my red Healey Grin

The beginning of the formation lap was a bit too fast IMO, but at the end the pack closed and it was fine again.
I was following Bara for a few laps, trying to find a way past. But the nimble Alpne was hard to overtake. But I had a better exit in the last hairpin and I could get alongside just before Redgate. I had to keep the car really close to the Apex, as Bara didn't want to share more room than needed Grin.

I could slowly pull away from Bara and Pero, as they were keeping eachother busy. But near the end Bara got loose and he was gaining fast. 4 Laps before the end I had a 4,4s lead, but at the end it was only 0,5s. My tyres were shot, and I had no grip. But other than that, my own made setup worked very well, which gives me some confidence in the setupdepartment.

Before the race I had a great GTR2 battle with Alex Gremko at Imola. 10 Laps pushing like mad, and thrilling to the last breath. So when I started GTL and steppe dinto the Healey, I fel asleep. With GTR2 I cannot get into GTL anymore, it feels so dull. During this race I was also pushing hard, but it felt like siteseeing sleep1

That was fun. I was hoping you'd make a big enough mistake that I'd be able to get back through, but you didn't.

A bit of a lonely race up to that point.

Mag07 - you might want to reread the rules about the pit speed limiter starting procedure. You didn't seem certain as to what you needed to be doing.
