I don't understand why you really fast guys at the top don't take the slower cars to get more racing. That's the whole point of the ladder points. If you take the fastest cars you're going to have lonely races.

The most important things about these races is....fun. I hate every Porsche in this game, and most the 914. I just can't get it to move (and have a good time). The Beamer could be fun, but is nothing slower than the Escort and the Capri 2600....well..... yawn(I can't say it anymore Grin)

If you end up having a lonely race it's more self-inflicted than anything else in this kind of league.

This is complete nonsence, really.

I knew you would comment on that Grin. I'm trying to look for other words than boring Tongue. But you're wrong. I loved every GTR2 race, even if I lead from start to finish, the game is even fun when hotlapping. Driving 22 laps all alone is just not how I want to fill my evening.

You've changed your tune. You used to rave about GTL. I must admit I'm not really that keen on it either (as you welll know), but I know that before I take to the track and sometimes I don't bother because the track/car combo just isn't fun for me. That's fine cause I can pick and choose when things are going to more fun. Perhaps take a break and see the races that look like fun cars for you and come back for those?

i used to prefer GTL a lot more to GTR, but now i have played GTR2, i am not really fussed over GTL, so i can see where these comments are coming from.

Yup, I loved GTL more that GTR, because of the physics, but now that GTR2 has much improved physics, the speed of the GT cars just give a bigger thrill IMO.

Well why not take a slower car - it is a doublesided sword really. This time I could have gone with the Beemer and would have easly still be on the winning pace, but taht was here. A few races ago taking a lesser car ment you had no chances of having a good fight for the lead. So immidiatly it was a game of which car the other fast guy was taking and what he can do with it. Most tracks that ment we all were on the same machinery - even if it might not have been the absolute fastest choice. As far as taking alway the fastest car goes - nonsence. I have many times take a slower car. Possibly I still got fastest lap, but with something else I could have been even faster. Last weeks race for instance - Healey wasnt the fastest choice - that was the Alpine. Or A few races back at Nurburgring - again Elan was the fastest choice, but I took the Daytona. Same goes for many other tracks - this might sound wrong, but I alway try and have a good race with the fastest of the other guys as those battles are much more intense. This race was quite booring because I was a bit too quick and Ruskus was a bit to slow. It could have well been a real monster of a race if we would have been close together on times as than tirewear and car preservation would come into play and we would have gone nose to tail as we did many many times before

Some of the GTL cars I still really enjoy. I had a blast in the Healey at Donington last week despite never really racing anyone; I love the Capri 3100 and the Alfa and especially the Cortina are aways a giggle. I am spread a bit thin on the ground now though, between the ASRWC, GTL and GTR2. Oh, and the annoyance of a full time job. Cheesy

I dislike the Porsches too, but I find it more rewarding to fight an ill-handling car up the leaderboard than to run off out front in a faster car.  I'd rather have the battles.  There's nothing wrong with doing either, of course!  That's just what I choose.  Sometimes I forget the world doesn't think like me Embarrassed laugh

Oh dont worry Dave, the irony wasnt lost on me too  Embarrassed...except on one count, i wasnt trying to win the race, i was minding my own business when i got mugged at the chicane and point 2,   i was already almost a lap down from the chicane incident, then get given a stop and go penalty because 2 of those 'cut tracks' were given to me for involuntarily going off the track, and then losing yet another lap sitting in the pit lane for the penalty, what was the point of continuing ? I had zero chance of racing anybody as i was 2 minutes down after first few laps.
If it had been a GTR or endurance race i would have carried on, but with the shite handling of the escort under braking i would only have thrown it off several times trying to vainly catch up on a lap+.

Why was a stop and go as long as 40 seconds 'stationary' and it looked like it was going to be even longer when i hit the escape key Huh

By the by, i am not attaching any blame to the other driver, it was a couple of 'racing incidents'.

Amazing pace up front once again, its quite dis-heartening to know someone is upto 5 seconds a lap quicker in the same car Embarrassed (Pero can i have your setup please? Wink )...err and your driving skills Roll Eyes

Sounds like they were changing your tyres and adding fuel instead of serving a stop/go...

Just wondering...if we turn off Black Flags from the server does that effectively ignore corner cutting infringements?

Gotta be worth a try? But then the more un-scrupulous might take advantage by blatant corner cutting Undecided

Zolder is one of the worst for the dreaded 'cut corners' when you run wide / get nudged.  Sad

Considering how hard it is to keep these wayward motors on the black stuff in a pack of battling cars, you'd think they would have coded it in better  Huh...or at least released a patch to fix it.

Yes - shouldn't have been hard to look at total laptime and if you didn't gain an overal advantage to ignore the warning. There will still be a grey area but it would chuck out the blatent gone off track still gets a mandatory count towards the 3 and your out bit.

First things first, let's see if it actually works.
Should be very easy to test. If someone hasn't beaten me to it I'll try it tonight when I get home.
