I expect they'll be left, but they seem a little high to me too especially with more tracks and the 'faster' physics.

Where can you find the benchmarks?

The reference times have been adjusted a number of times over the last few weeks. When it first went up most of my laps were in the green, now all but one are red, and that one probably needs to be adusted too:P

The rank is how many seconds below the 'standard' times you are for a class.  So to get a GT handicap, you have to have set a valid laptime for each of the ranking tracks in any GT car, in this case for each of the 34 tracks in GTR2.  If you've not set a time for all of the tracks then it'll say 'incomplete'.

With 34 tracks there'll be some very large negative scores Shocked Shocked

CHRIST!!!

Ranks are overratted anyway

OO don't say that Shocked Grin
They are a bit catch22 to be honest, they become more and more useful the more users that are on there. I regularly used them during my Nascar days as a guide to what a competitive time should be and that served me well. I always ignored the really outlandishly quick times and then took a judgement on where the bulk of the times started to appear.
Alternatively use a buddy list of trusted or known drivers to get a better picture.

are the benchmarks quite high? will they be adjusted? i am going negative more than i usually do Grin

Benchmark times are normally set at 105% of the world record time, given that that is a trusted and accepted time to the rank.
So obviously at the moment these are going to be moveable as more experience is gained with the sim.

Cheers

BTW for those that don't notice my signature I am involved in rFactor Rank admin so I am getting an idea of what goes on Smiley Smiley

if i can go round all the tracks in one car now i will get a good handicap, so i could take a printscreen before they are adjusted Grin

I'm on there as Shark or Simon Gymer, whichever you find.
Not many laps, I've hardly played it tbh, waiting for the championships before really getting into it.
Completed all the lessons and going through the custom championships to unlock the other tracks. Must say the AI is great on Angry and 100%.

That's how I use it. The very top times will be a mix of cuts, warp laps and alien times. I look a bit further down for where the times start to get very close to each other to see what is possible for mortal drivers. It's also handy for judging the relative performance of cars.

Finished my first stab at a GT rank last night, and have a shiny new banner in my sig.  Grin

What you need to do mate is register a lap in a particular car at all the circuits. To get a negative score(time) you combined lap times need to be lower than the combined benchmark lap times.

Yes, had to set a time at all 34 track variations. If that is too much hard work there are ranks for just the 03 & 04 tracks, but that doesn't show up in the banner.

Hi everbody.
I drove a few laps on every track over the last 3 days (mainly with the Vertigo Gillette) to get a G3 Handicap. Now I can focus on getting rid of some slow laps and then move on to the other classes. Some of the hotlaps are also uploaded (the not so bad).
