We have just moved to a new server due to the issues we were having earlier this week - As a result I am squeezing a test race in next week instead of the 1st round of the RSR Challenge

We'll be taking the Lotus 25 F1 car for a spin around Anglesey, so as that's also the 1st round of the Porsche series you have no real excuse not to join in Wink

Live timing link is not properly formatted. I think you do get the proper link when you click on it, but it's giving me a "The connection has timed out" page.

I tried it a little bit, and I feel like the car has no brakes. Feels like 50s f1 car rather than 60s. Don't remember brakes being so bad in 65 gpl Smiley

I think I know what's wrong there - will be fixed in an hour or 2!

Eeek, lets just drop straight in to the deep end. I know these have been run before, can anyone suggest a stable setup?

I honestly think the problem is that they're a bit too stable - I'll be trying to make mine a lot looser based on the quick test I did after starting the server!

I won't be home this wednesday evening, so I'll be seeing you lads the week after when we start the 911 RSR season. Looking forward to it.

Cheers, and happy racing!

Very complicated track to learn. I also changed several setups before the car started working decently. It will not be easy.

I will be turning up now, hours after posting, my work situation changed again Roll Eyes

I can see this being quite dangerous with people driving at different rates, especially through that long right-hander up the hill. If I'm in the middle of the track its not because I'm blocking its because that's the safest line to make sure I don't understeer off going through it!

I jumped the start and got a drive through.
I'm not sure if I was doing it wrong, but I went twice through the pits, never got pit limiter to turn on and it was never counted as drive-trough so I got dq'ed.

I think the pit lane was bugged here.

Well, that was going great until I ran wide and impaled myself through a tire wall at the end Embarrassed
I'd forgotten how much fun these cars are!

Well done to Fabri on the win and all the finishers for humiliating me Grin

For some reason the pit lane seems to be odd, I don't see complaints about that on RaceDepartment so am unsure why it wasn't quite working for us.

I've edited the server files for round 1 of the RSR's so the cars are locked until the lights go out to avoid anyone needing to pit (The Porsches will do 30 mins easy on tires/fuel here).
This will be a one off for this round and normal start procedure will be used for all other races.
On that note the Porsche practice server is running now - the threads and championship listings will appear in due course!

Love the car. but found this track a nightmare to try and learn - blind corners that all look the same, no brake markers and sticky walls made for a frustrating practice session! Will need to put in more laps before the Porsches next week. Sorry to see several cars fall off early on, made it a bit lonely after the first few laps. Congrats to Fabri.

I was just lucky.  angel

Even for me this track was a nightmare, the car was really difficult in braking and entry. Fortunately, I didn't make big mistakes during the race. I was quite slow, but from the middle of the race on I was running on decent times, keeping the gap with Tim not too big.
Although I was at 5-6 seconds and saw him in some parts of the track, I didn't see his accident and so I was definitely surprised to find that I was in first position when they showed me the table.
I've done the last two laps slow as a snail because I was going to run out of petrol.  Roll Eyes

Congratulations to all participants and bad luck for Tim and Syd.
