Practice: 20:00 (30 mins)
Qual: 20:30 (15 mins)
Race: 20:45 (30mins)

Cars allowed: GT4

Time of Day Setting: 13:00
Weather: Dry

Start: Rolling start
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit-stops: none required

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the relevant Track Packs for this series
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.
(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.
(6) Start procedure
*It will be the pole sitter's responsibility to complete the first lap at a pace that allows the rest of the grid to follow comfortably
*There should be no overtaking or hard accelerating/braking
*Drivers should avoid getting too far behind or too close to the driver in front
*Approximately 20 seconds before crossing the start line the pole sitter should slow down to a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*Each following driver shall close up directly behind the driver in front also maintaining a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*The pole sitter should maintain that speed until they cross the start line and then accelerate away to start the race (lap2)
*Each following driver should only accelerate when the driver directly ahead does (they do not have to wait until crossing the start line)
*No overtaking is allowed before crossing the start line at the completion of the formation lap

Its time for the first round of the new GT4 Series!

I have set the race duration for 30 mins for this first race. I will probably change the race format for future races depending on grid size and peoples preferences.

Well done Geoff on the win, great battle all race and as someone who is inept at driving anything with the engine in the middle or back I was impressed at the pace you got out of the Lotus. Well done Frex as well for fighting through to the podium.

I'd been destroying the front left tyre during practice and qualifying so decided for the race not to lean on it too hard through the long right handers. Geoff passed me at the first corner as I took it steady, after that I kept the pressure on and looked after the tyres.

With around 5 minutes left I made my move at the hairpin late in the lap and started to use the pace the BMW had in the fast stuff to get a couple of seconds breathing room. Unfortunately on the last lap I accidentally double tapped the downshift paddle into the hairpin in sector 1 locking the rear and causing it to rotate. Geoff didn't need to be asked twice to retake the lead and comfortably saw out the rest of the lap to take the win.

The mistake at the end was frustrating as I think I wasted the car advantage the BMW had here, I finished the race with none of the tyres showing yellow for wear so had always had a bit of pace left in reserve.

Bad luck Glenn, you drove a clever race & should have won.

Started again with the setup on the Lotus as I seem to remember it had a mild physics overhaul since the last time I used it. It now appears easier to drive, less inclined to both understeer & oversteer, more neutral, how it should be.

Good battle with Glenn once again. After taking the lead on the first lap I tried hard to build a gap but Glenn stayed close & I knew if he got close enough onto the long straight that I was doomed. Sure enough with around 3 laps left he got ahead & pulled away & should have won. Both my front tyres were on yellow by three-quarters distance & I was starting to get a little understeer through the long corners late in the race.

Grats to Glenn & Frex on the podium.  clap clap

Enjoyed last night, set new PBs in qualifying and again in the race; finished the race and was only lapped once. In terms of my driving ability a successful race.  Grin Thanks SRW for organising the Series, see y’all in a fortnight!

Not a big fan of these GT4's; they seem much worse to drive than the GT3's. I hated them the last time I drove them so thought I'd go with the new BMW but clearly they BoP'd it with THAT gearbox! Though i'm thinking it isn't a proper racing box and just a manual as the downshift protection is painful.

Felt a bit hampered early on as I could take the speed through some of the corners but just drifted back as it felt like your fighting the car all the time.

They're all paddle-shifted sequential according to S3. I heard the Lotus used to be awful to drive but if anything it was too stable for me, didn't really manage to wring any speed out of it. Adjusting the TC appeared to do very little, maybe these cars are meant to be driven with TC off? Or maybe the default setup is just very safe.

To have any chance of keeping up with Glenn and Geoff I would have had to stay in the tow, but I scuppered that plan in qually by messing up at the last corner twice which then voided all of my laps.. Hence started at the back. Still, it was nice to be back in the little KTM again. Congrats Geoff and Glenn.

Can't say about the other cars but I had TC off in the KTM.
