Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 0h11m51s

On lap 6, David Sochenna went out of the track and rejoined the track as Francesco Molteni and Dave Curtis arrived.
It was just OK but then, he let not enough place to Francesco to overtake safely.
Dave was an innocent victim but hopefully could continue.

The two cars could continue the race but 10 seconds after, just before the hairpin, David had almost overtaken Francesco when Fran went on the left and there was a big contact between the 2 cars.

Special mention to Fran ............. In qually you spun and Shift+r, a bit before the S/F line.
Shift-Rs are not allowed in qually (see the Shift-R paragraph on this page) precisely because of this reason. Please don't do Shift-Rs in qually Fran.

2:10 pah. My best ever time at Rouen is 2:01 so I hopped back in the Brabby and tried again. 2:07 on cold tyres and then I crashed  Grin

Rouen is a track that I like a lot.

My strategy since the beginning was to run from Louts.

I was the only Lotus on the grid and had the obligation to make a good race.

I raised a podium, I did a good qually, I could even lower my time a little more.

But I was impressed with the BRM time.

I confess that before the start, my adrenaline was at 1000, shaking and my hand kept sweating

Fortunately I had an excellent start and a good race, without mistakes, I focused on the track and didn't look at the pribluda

Finally I did a decent run, I did my homework with Lotus.

But it was not easy, throughout the race Friedrich and Grupp were embedded in my rear view mirror

Congratulations Friedrich, you were very fast with BRM and Grupp, for third place

Doni, with his BRM very consistent and keeping the fight for the championship!

GPL in the vein!

Congrats to Dulima! You always had some pressure from behind but your very consistent racing has earned you the victory! This was a challenging race and a lot of fun. Also congrats to Bastian for the podium and thanks for the battle.

Unfortunately I also had a disco during qualifying. I could not reconnect before I rebooted my router and my computer. But then there was no time left to improve my lap time.

This time I had a good getaway and no incidences on lap one.  Smiley I stayed third until Bastian made a mistake at the end of the second lap. He went off the road when braking for the slow corner at the end of the long straight. Thereafter, I was slowly approaching Dulima. But as soon as I was within a second of him Bastian filled my mirrors and benefited from me going wide at the bend before the start/finish line. Thereafter I tried to get close to both of them again, mostly I was one or two seconds behind Bastian, sometimes battling for position. However, not until the last lap I got the opportunity for a pass. Bastian did the same mistake I did before, running off the track at the bend before the start/finish line. I came very clean through this corner and was able to out-accelerate and overtake him directly before the checkered flag with a gap of only 0.252s!  Cool

Driving the BRM is a pleasure but not if you try to overtake someone. Every time I accelerated out of a corner when I was directly behind the Brabham of Bastian or the Lotus of Dulima I was sure I was driving a bus!

Hearty congratulations to Eddie on a fine win!  Pretty much a text book drive.  Well done, amigo.

Markus did a splendid job in his BRM to nail down P2 after a duel with Bastian.  Great pass for the position!

I'm quite satisfied with a P5 placing from a P7 start.  Off the line, I managed to pip Andreas and had him in my mirrors for three laps til an apparent disco ended his day early.  Bad luck there and a disappointment as he and I have had many a good dice in years past.

Bob suffered a lurid spin to cost him places and I wasn't even aware that he was behind me til the race ended.  My time was occupied by a relentless pursuit and assault from Phil.  For many a lap, PT was all over me and a couple of times, he seemed set for a pass going into T1.  Being an obstinate Canadian kept me ahead but only by a whisker .  Only a late race off by PT approaching the Nouveau Monde hairpin relieved the pressure.  A nail-biter but that was fun, Phil.  Good show.

Hi all,

i just forgot about that league Smiley

Race was quite ok, grats to dulima and marcus, especially with that car.
But your move end of lap 7 was very late....

yes but very sad, i stayed focussed until the last corner where i clipped the curbs.
i tried to move but the speed difference was too big...thats hard.

i was also unlucky with fran and another lapped one, don't know who...
Fran blocked me up for three corner, the other one did see me late when i was very close to dulima.
so his sudden movement triggered a sudden move from me and i had a high speed spin but could continue before marcus.

Welcome back to Maestro & Badblood.
I'm sure your lap times will be back in the mix once you've done some practice. GPL is a hard task master.

Normally if the track is not free the shift -r don't work.During the qualy ,for me, the lapping by the faster pilots is not valid...could be that i'm in my faster time.

Ti stavano doppiando, amico...

I was caught out twice during qually ruining my best lap attempt by chaps leaving the pits on there out lap diving out straight onto the racing line . Then was taken off when passing a slower car on the back straight . Please if your on an outlap or driving slowly Watch your mirrors !

for the race I took it easy at the start on full tanks and cold tyres , fully expecting the usual  pile up at the hairpin which never happened ! Lap 2  expecting the same , I was taking it easy on still cold tyres , all fine until the Honda behind decided it would be nice to overtake going into the left hand kink going up the hill , I left you room but then you turned in right across my nose forcing me to brake to avoid a collision and lose control , by the time I recovered I was half a lap down . I then had a very lonely drive to the finish .   Undecided

You rejoined the track (when shift r allowed) and started to accelerate. You were close enough to the Start line that you were still accelerating when you passed the S/F line. That means that you have no chance of setting a competitive lap. As you were on an out lap it is basic manners to get out of the way. (I'm sure Bad Blood is smiling as he reads this given what happened to us... but I was trying to stay out of his way...). Someone else shot passed you just after the S/L line, I got blocked as I approached T1.

If you are on a proper attempt at a fast lap and someone even faster comes up behind you then
* Qually: You do NOT need to get out the way, you are doing your best to make a fast time, and it's not your fault the other guy is quicker. This is NOT the scenario that happened in qually on Sunday because you were on an out lap.
* Race: you DO have to get out of the way, because the faster driver who is lapping you has priority, even if it compromises you racing with someone for position

Utter nonsense, I had to be careful. The warning sign for me was that you either didn't know I was there, or that you might have made it difficult for me to pass. I was very tentative because I didn't want to lose a good position through a stupid accident. The marshals must have been waving blue flags at you (sadly these don't appear in the replay)
