Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 0h11m51s

On lap 6, David Sochenna went out of the track and rejoined the track as Francesco Molteni and Dave Curtis arrived.
It was just OK but then, he let not enough place to Francesco to overtake safely.
Dave was an innocent victim but hopefully could continue.

The two cars could continue the race but 10 seconds after, just before the hairpin, David had almost overtaken Francesco when Fran went on the left and there was a big contact between the 2 cars.

Season 37 F1 SPRINT – Round 5 –  ROUEN

The fifth race in the 1967 F1 SPRINT series finds us at Rouen in France.   From its opening in 1950, Rouen-Les-Essarts was recognized as one of Europe's finest circuits, with modern pits, a wide track, and spectator grandstands. The circuit (which ran on public roads) had a few medium straights, a cobbled hairpin turn (Nouveau Monde) at the southernmost tip, and a few blind corners through a wooded hillside. The appeal was greatly enhanced by the climb from Nouveau Monde at 56 metres to Gresil at 149 metres.

I'll be taking the Brabham. Not that that will make any difference. I won't be able to get near you two in your BRMs, but I'll try!

I'll be happily pootling around at the back... I seem to be about 5-10 seconds over what I used to be able to do (and I was slow then).

Dropped connection just before the start which was rather annoying.

Nice to see a packed grid.

i was disconnected while waiting for the grid to fill. I got back in somehow, then was bounced again. The second time I was barred. I don't think this is on my end, where I have 150MB/sec connection speeds up and down with Fios.

Fun while it lasted. Saw the grid go off engaged first foot to the floor... nothing. That happened at Mosport. Not sure why. Any way, got going soon caught Pete and Albert. Albert was warping a bit and I was being cautious around him but we had a coming together at the start of lap 2. Ah well. Pete had dropped back a bit and I was starting to feel a bit more confident. Then disaster. Wheel on the grass and went over. Tried to Shift-R but Pete had caught me so I had to wait an age. What were the rules? Oops. Served a Stop-n-go and re-joined only to see the leader up my tail pipes. Got well out of the way and started to lap again. Times were 2:10 ish so not great but OK for my second trip out. Thought I would stay out to Lap 13 and call it a night but unfortunately got a bout of motion sickness on Lap 10. Fun. Though. A pass, a crash, A reset... what is not to like.

Enjoyed getting 'Arfed in qually too. Assumed it was my fault until I watched the replay. Wink

I REALLY need to practice but it was so nice to actually race again...

Disco'ed in Qually...

Nope, I had a moment, ruined my lap. Saw you coming up behind me, tried to move to the side, right hand wheels hit the grass... and all of a sudden it was raining car parts.. mea culpa

I realised a few people had been discoed at at the start because there was a big gap to the cars in front. Bad luck gents, I'm sure Dave will have a look at his server logs. I managed to get onto the back of Andreas before he discoed on the way down to the hairpin. I was worried that he would reappear on top of me but luckily for me he didn't (bad luck for Andreas though). I then got on the back of Doni and there I stayed for about 16 laps whilst I tried find a way past. But Doni was too good, no mistakes and I couldn't engineer a decent opportunity to pass. With about 3 laps to go I got the braking into the hairpin wrong and I did a 180. That was Doni gone and then I had to worry about Bob. Another silly mistake on what I think was the second to last lap and Bob was through. Still a good race for me, finished where I expected to be, at the back of the Works but ahead of the Privateers.

This is the first race in a very long time where I did not crash, spin or in any way hinder my progress or someone else's - quietly proud of myself, reminds me that it is possible...

I'll have to work out how I managed to finish so far behind the top 3, I think it was 38 secs in the end. I was never going to keep up with them, but my lap boards were saying I was 13-18 secs behind.

Special mention to Fran for forgetting to use Prib/look in your mirrors. In qually you spun and Shift+r, a bit before the S/F line. You immediately joined the racing line and got in my way when you had no chance of a flying lap. Worse still in the race you blocked me for over a lap as I tried to lap you, and Doni nearly caught up with me as a result. You were being lapped dude...
