Upgraded my PC today with an Athlon X2 4400+. I'm getting higher average frame rates with GTR2, but with a really bad intermittant but fairly frequent stutter.  Undecided Other games don't seem to be affected.  Huh Does anyone have any suggestions on anything I could do to try working around this?

I had to update my BIOS to run with the new chip. While I was at it I also updated my motherboard drivers while. I'll probably try swapping back to my old CPU tomorrow and see if that makes a difference.

I've had stutters related to USB, if any device is malfunctioning even slightly it all goes crazy.

Thanks for the tip Fozz, one of the motherboard drivers I updated was for the USB support. Will try uninstalling it.

After quite a bit of messing around, finally got to the bottom of it. The Gigabyte EasyTune software which runs in the background was screwing things up somehow. Close it and the problem goes away. The new CPU is giving me a useful if unspectacular performance boost. Unfortunately I can't try it with my new X1900 card as I need a new PSU which supplies more juice.
