Season 37 F1 Full Grand Prix – Round 6 –  Wiesbaden

This season we are experimenting with some Grand Prix length races which we estimate should take 90 mins to complete.
This change to our normal format has required some changes to our rules and etiquette, so please read everything carefully to ensure that you understand.

Server = UKGPL_8
IP = see iGOR
Race date = Sunday 11-10-2020
Time = 20:30 UK time (21:00 GMT) RACE WILL START AT APPROX 21:00 UK LOCAL TIME
Track = WIESBADEN
Race length = 55 Laps (90 minutes)
Variant = 1967
60fps patch used   = 60fpsV2newmod
Damage Model = Pro
Qualifying time = 30-45 minutes
Password: see above
Replay = https://www.sendspace.com/file/0ug0v6

Please check the Season 37 details regarding rules.

Drivers must complete 50% of each race to score.

PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY AND BE SURE THAT YOU UNDERSTAND.

QUALIFYING
During qualifying drivers are expected to drive back to the pits after each qualifying run. It is not permissible to return to the pits using the "Esc" key. If a driver crashes his car in qualifying and cannot return to the pits safely under his own power, he must not participate in the remaining qualifying period. The driver will allocated the grid slot achieved at that point.
REFUELLING
On some tracks it may not be possible to complete the full race distance on one tank of fuel. To avoid having to drive conservatively in order to save fuel, it is recommended that drivers make use of the Pit Stop patch which allows refuelling. Details are on the UKGPL web site on the Game page under the rules section.

We are using Lee Bowden's pit stop patch V 1.0 available here
http://srmz.net/index.php?s=2f2b26bfa1b153fa8e44e9fc470d61a9&app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_id=28268

This patch allows cars to refuel in the pits to the same level as when they started the race and does NOT allow for tyres to be changed.
 You do not have to make a pitstop and may choose to run the whole race by filling your tanks from the start.

For Season 37 we are promoting the use of TEAMSPEAK for those who wish to use it. Details can be found here
This allows drivers to speak to each other if they wish, IT IS NOT COMPULSORY.

Important!!!
RED FLAG RESTARTS
We hope that drivers will be cautious on Lap 1 and avoid any moves that might cause a crash.
However, because this is racing there might be an occasion where several cars are eliminated, or badly damaged, by an incident on lap 1 and we could be left with 4 cars that have a lonely 90 minute race ahead of them.
If the moderator decides that any such incident on Lap 1, has removed too many cars from the race, he is able to order a RESTART, and he will announce this on Teamspeak and then through GPL CHAT.
The server will be shut down and restarted. There will then be a SINGLE lap qualifying session to determine the grid placings. Drivers will be allowed a single outlap followed by ONE flying lap to set a grid time. After completing your flying lap please pull off the track and ESC to pits to keep the track clear.
A Restart will only be called ONCE for each race and will only apply to Lap 1 incidents. If there is a multi car incident on Lap 2 then tough luck!! These are long races and a certain amount of caution should be used.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

  Very lucky in this race, when 9 laps were missing, my gas was at the limit and I had to slow down a lot to be able to arrive, luckily I had more than 20s of advantage and even so Farina still took half the difference.
  I'm sorry for Uli, the engine breaking down without any error is bad luck.
  Wiesbaden is a fun track for those who start on the keyboard, 90º turns ....... for those who don't like it, it's very difficult to maintain concentration.
  Congratulations to the drivers who finished this difficult race.

Good morning all

Well done JonnyO and Enrique for your race.
Sorry for Uli, engine failure is always very unfair even more when you are first.

At the start it was knocked out, I hit a Honda then another car in the middle of the track, luckily no damage for me.

I manage to follow Enrique and am 5s away from him, after several laps we find pilots who we take 1 laps.
Bad luck for me, this overtaking had to be done in the "Coulinstraße" area and I lost 5s at this time and therefore contact with those in front.
Result Tristan comes back and passes me, I force to follow and touch the rails still at "Coulinstraße"
fpolicardi passes me and my car is all twisted.
I manage to finish but I am very lucky because I was really very slow at the end of the race.

Well done everyone, thank you to the Admins and see you soon

Sorry Tristan, I couldn't have tried to push you but I was already past

I had thought the same while passing, but it was too late.
In Q I hit Esc without thinking after a couple of laps with full fuel, so stupid, so I sit in pit for the rest of Q and couldn't gain any advantage by my new red rig.
At the start I failed to put in 1st so almost risked to blow engine when I press full throttle to start, thx and sorry who followed me that had the patience to wait for my delayed start. Maybe this saved me by the little pile up ahead. Tris, the white whale isn't easy to manage at start, you can crawl out of tourque or spin out on full power  Wink
The race was interesting with some laps battling with Tris regaining after a little off, but when he catched my draft on s/f straight the Honda power did his work and leaved me in the dust. Then, as Alain wrote, both passed Alan when he had an off and after Uli, Frederich and Tris retired I found myself in a confortable 3rd maybe with a chance  to give some pressure to Enrique, but at 42 lap I lost control on braking for T1 and slowly went on the inside hailbails, but soon after there was the rail and I leaved there the RF tire  Sad
I crawled to the pits  while my mouth was  taz  Grin and retired.
Grats to all that managed to end this difficult race.

I must admit that I only come the day before the race, or the day of the race.

    Why not have the circuit changed on the calendar?

    So, I was lucky to know the track!

Everything was doing ok until this silly mistake. I was 2nd. I tried to maintain a certain pace to come back on Uli. Spun on acceleration, why?Huh I was then totally pissed off after that and I tool a long time to come back in the right direction. Johnny and Enrique passed me by and I hit the wall shortly after over passing Enrique. I don't know if I will forget this.  What a shame Angry

Grats to the podium. Sorry for Uli blow up. He was damn fast.

Congratulations to Jonny, Ricky and Alain for taking the podium!  Well done.

I see by the results that you all endured this venue for fully 1-1/2 hours.  A tribute to your stamina.  There's just no way I could manage that on a consistent basis.

This circuit is very difficult, slippery and without much escape zone, I like it a lot and although I was a little damaged by the start, which I lost very important seconds, I was able to recover and start a chase with Jonnie, but what happens .. . Shocked !!! Jonnie was very focused, he did not make mistakes, and I did, small but lethal and little by little he began to escape, I think it was a perfect race for the Brazilian, and I congratulate him on that, the championship for both is very good and I like it a lot, hopefully I will make fewer mistakes in the next races that follow and be able to get good results.
  It's unfortunate about you Frederic, I realized the moment you happened to me that you also spent the braking, and you could not save yourself from the blow, what a pity we would have had a nice battle for 2nd place.
  That ULI's bad luck, that if it produces a lot of bad temper, but I realized in the replay that you did not release the accelerator in the "jump" of the main straight, perhaps that was the error that caused the explosion
   cya in solitud, a very hard track again..."the force er be whit me "  helpsmilie
