Practice: 20:00 (30 mins)
Qual: 20:30 (15 mins)
Race: 20:45 (30mins)

Cars allowed: GT4

Time of Day Setting: 13:00
Weather: Dry

Start: Rolling start
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit-stops: none required

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the relevant Track Packs for this series
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.
(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.
(6) Start procedure
*It will be the pole sitter's responsibility to complete the first lap at a pace that allows the rest of the grid to follow comfortably
*There should be no overtaking or hard accelerating/braking
*Drivers should avoid getting too far behind or too close to the driver in front
*Approximately 20 seconds before crossing the start line the pole sitter should slow down to a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*Each following driver shall close up directly behind the driver in front also maintaining a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*The pole sitter should maintain that speed until they cross the start line and then accelerate away to start the race (lap2)
*Each following driver should only accelerate when the driver directly ahead does (they do not have to wait until crossing the start line)
*No overtaking is allowed before crossing the start line at the completion of the formation lap

Great race last night, really enjoyed the battle Mark, Frex and I were locked in - was just a shame Geoff fell back early as there was less than a tenth between fastest race laps for all four of us. It was also interesting to see first hand the difference in speed between the BMW and KTM across different sections of the lap - I almost sent it past Frex into the first corner as I was caught out at the KTM's lack of acceleration from the rolling start, I could just drive away on the straights and was getting to the end of the long straight a second and a half in front of Frex but by the end of each lap he was right back under my rear wing.

The biggest problem in the BMW again was overheating the front left tyre. I could see Mark seemed to be working the tyres a little harder than I was so for a while I was happy to sit in the slipstream and save mine. I did get through into the lead early on but then ran wide out of T2 allowing him back through. I think Mark ultimately had better outright pace than I did but every so often it seemed his pace slowed a little to let the tyres recover and I would be back onto his bumper but then he'd get the hammer down again and pull a gap with his superior pace.

Later on the race started coming back to me and I was able to keep the pressure on until I made the pass at the end of the straight. I tried to push and get a gap but with three minutes left braked late for the last corner, accidently double tapped the downshift paddle and the car slid into a half spin gifting Mark the lead back. I realised I'd short fuelled the car again and with barely any time to close the three second lead Mark had I'd thrown in the towel. My luck was in though as Mark then had a half spin at T2 (accidental downshift into 2nd by any chance?) allowing me back into the lead.

Because I now had a bit of a gap I began watching the time to see if I had sufficient gap to back off and not do another lap as I now had 0 litres of fuel left. I thought there was just enough of a gap and slowed almost stopping just before the line but then Mark came around the final corner and I had to set off again passing the start finish line with one second to go. I thought Mark was going to pass before T1 but think he may have backed off thinking I'd finished so I kept the lead but the last lap was a nail biter having to short shift and coast with Mark and Frex behind.

Great race, well done Mark and Frex on podium finishes and hard luck Geoff as your pace was also strong.

Yeah, enjoyed that! Thought I would come good towards the end of the race as the KTM is usually better on tyre wear than the Beemers, but after 20minutes of nose to tail racing I messed up T1 and was suddenly 15 seconds down. I guess Glenn and Mark had their own issues however as later on we all closed right up again. Lucky to finish in the end though as fuel marginal, and last lap was touch and go. Got to the last corner and started spluttering, but just made it across the line. Congrats Glenn and Mark. Bad luck Geoff with the spin.

Shame I could not get involved with what looked like an excellent battle at the front. Certainly had the speed but succumbed early on to the Evora's dislike of kerbs. Not sure if it is my setup or what but taking too much kerb tends to pull the front into the turn & push the rear out resulting in the car wanting to swap ends. Had, I think, 4 spins in this race, although a couple mid-race seemed to be due to the rear tyres getting too hot, adding a notch more traction control appeared to solve that though. So all in all another rather disappointing race, getting too many of these recently. Sad

Congrats to Glenn, Mark & Frex.  clap clap clap

I had to cobble a setup together quickly, but it was too ambitious for my skill level, and was becoming frustrating
held it several times, but got fed up of it so after a spin I quit.

Well I did write something earlier but if you leave it for too long and the internet connection time out from work...

That was intense. Couldn't believe I got pole. Not sure if the setup really worked much as the front tyres still didn't like gripping the tarmac so ended up trying to slide the rears a bit more but knew I was going to struggle in the race once the fronts start wearing.

The start confused me a bit as it looked like Geoff didn't accelerate from the line! Seemed like Glenn was wasn't too much quicker than me as the few times he came past he ended up falling off! Then I finally fell off as in the excitement of getting back in front I got distracted and missed my braking for the hairpin and spun! And coming across the line to find Glenn stopped at the line I thought it was the end of the race and slowed down! (Playing all these different games you forget the nuances of each like what happens when you cross the line!) Then realised the lap time was still counting!

Lol when working out my fuel, I had to rely on the in car 'laps left' and then guess how much extra I would need. Went conservative with 50L but ended up a good thing!
