I also drove round Snetterton in about 1964. Strangely I cant recall the circuit at all well and don't remember the bridge.

BTW I really like the 1964 TC and VW Sirocco formats. thumbup1

Thanks Mike, hope you also enjoy the rest of our offerings...

Here's what the track author says

This is the early to mid 60's version of the track. It is a combination of the track from those years. Some of the bridges may or may not have been there around this time, but I really like driving under the esses one so it is there! You can always go around the outside of the bridge and not hit it if you overcook it into the esses, there is a little surprise waiting there too if you look closely, and as Keeper says....kill da wabbit, kill da wabbit! . I have gone to a 3x2x3 to keep it historically correct instead of the 4x3x4 grid due to room on the grid and to make online starts easier.

This film from 1958 shows there was no bridge at the Esses (about 30s).

Another one from 1966, showing that the Russells chicane had been added before the S/F straight.

Managed to get back on track and then slowly caught and passed Ziu (not often I get the say that  Roll Eyes )
then held a few seconds lead up to the finish.

And i believe you pass me ..... you gave me turtles in rabbit costume. You held best rabbits only for you. How much rabbits you sticked in your engine ? Have courage to say me  lol

Some great films of Snetterton in the 50's and 60's. I have just watched a few more. Some faces I recognise from a previous life. That explains the bridge, I thought my memory was cracking up. Roll Eyes

Disappointing race.  The Jag or Falcon seemed the obvious choices for the track, but the scoring system with only class points awarded, makes a tactical car choice tempting.  However, with no class free of alien infestations, it didn't matter much, so stuck with my original preference, the Jag.  Probably stupid, given it seemed to have attracted the highest concentration of extraterrestrials.

Got a good start, getting ahead of several faster drivers, leading the class briefly. Unteneable position of course, and one by one the aliens caught up and passed, pushing me further and further down the order. While this took place, I had an almost race long battle with Micha not far behind.  He got real close and personal, when I made a mistake due to tyre wear.  Eventually a much delayed Geoffers showed up and passed like the others.  Right after and approaching the bend before the bridge, he suffered a massive freeze. No time to react, I went straight through his car, with no ill effect, apart from the fact that it completely threw me. Missed the line and had to brake right down, letting both Micha and a continuing Geoffers past.  Geoffers then crashed a couple of corners later, giving me back that position, but with only a few laps left and on worn tyres, I could do nothing about Micha. Not that it mattered, as we were in different classes, but you still want to be ahead, racer's instinct n'all y'know...  Wink

Grats to the various class winners and podiums.
