Very tricky track in these cars, especially over some of the crests. So far identified 6 or 7 areas where there is potential to lose the rear, seems no sooner have I worked out how to take one section than another one makes itself known. Would advise plenty of practice.

100% agree Geoff, I'll be attempting to make a completely different setup here if it carries on, as it is throwing me off the road in all of the usual places, and a load of others as well.....Not sure I've ever had quite so much trouble getting around Nords!

Schwalbenschwanz seems the most difficult corner, car just does not like turning into the banked section, goes sideways every time, may try taking it on the flat part of the track.

I concur with the two gents above; very difficult indeed In addition, I have run into something very peculiar: twice I have gone off track and gotten stuck, in two different places. The 2nd time, I was stuck right at the track edge, but car wouldn't move. While sitting stationary and not revving the engine, the tyre temps & wear continued to climb - rapidly. The first time it was both front & rear, 2nd time only the fronts, which quickly got to 200º and exploded! Steering wheel was vibrating while this took place. Never seen this before in all my time with GTL. Anyone else recognize this ?

Hmmmh - no big problems here. Three laps online -only one off: 09:37 / 09:43 / 09:20. I'm not the fastest, I know, but for me a kind of a smooth drive on my hometrack. Not sure whether I can maintain that level of concentration for the whole race on a working day evening, but will be fun In 1977 (GP Nuerburgring) Willi Bergmeister did a 9:02.900 in quali: https://www.racingsportscars.com/etcc/1977/Nurburgring-1977-07-10-079.jpg

It's very tricky indeed, but i think i found the key here. The key is to drive the car very gentle and easy (lower steering lock will help i think) and brake very early! Do not let the car go on inertia as she don't like that, especiially at the fast corners. It was great when i try to control the car pushing the throttle and brake at the same time.
In my first lap i made 8:59.3 and i have no idea if this is good but at least i was able to drive safely.
I upload the setup, the name is "VW Scirocco 1 Gr.2, if somebody want's to give it a try. It's basicaly the Enna one, but with few changes.

Yes, the trick seems to be not to lift & brake over the tricky crests, lift & brake before & get on the power over the crests & take them as straight as possible.

Yep, very disciplined on braking and changing down in the dodgy bits, and in very straight lines as Geoffers said, along with a changed and less twitchy setup of course, has netted some decent pace and the ability to actually get around the lap without quite so much drama....

I have decided to give this one a miss. I think it would take me about a day to learn this circuit. Too much of a challenge for me. I have done three and a bit out-laps, span about half a dozen times, ended up on my roof once, oh and BTW if anyone finds a wheel in a field about two thirds of the way round it's mine. For this evening I will join my local MG Classic Car Owners Club zoom virtual club night meeting. Less chance of crashing in that. I look forward to joining future races in this series and wish all an enjoyable evening.

Lost connection near end of lap1 running just ahead of Kurt. Well, I was still running, but it looked like no one else was. Parked, hoping for a restart, came out of the server to see you all still on it.

Bad luck Andy, I think Dan was disco'd at the same time. I lost connection too. But mine was between the tyres and the tarmac

Not a good night for me, just could not get a good flow going & was well off the times I was doing in testing (not as quick as DD though ).After getting up to 3rd, had a spin a Fuchsrohre on lap 2 chasing Erling & dropped to 5th. Then on lap 4 I went off at Wehrseifen & got stuck, car would not move forward or backward so had to quit . Grats to the podium & all finishers.

That was as difficult as nearly anything else I've done at Nords to be fair....
