Championship Standings here

Grid/server capacity: 22

Car/Track download available by pm to WT

Track: Surfers Paradise

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (24 laps)

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit stops: Not required

Server: simracing.org.uk Wednesdays
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None.

Which car for this race, Tony?

EDIT: I think it's the Ford. And the good news is that there can't be engine failure, because the engine never gets less than 100% even with 250 kmh hit to the barriers.  Grin

Did a bit of testing, setup is uploaded in the online database under the name of "boss mustang v1c".

As usual, the key is to nail the trail braking so you can both carry speed and rotate the car around, to be able to accelerate as early as possible.

With an engine as powerful as this, it takes a very careful throttle application to keep the car on the edge while keeping it turning slightly. Less throttle instantly makes it understeer wide and too much sends it into power oversteering.

Best lap time 1:52.9xx, but it was more of a one off. Usually mid, sometimes low, 53s. All that with 40 liters of fuel though.

It's going to be a tricky race, especially once the rears overheat and wear down.

Unfortunately the RaceRoom enduro is not my cup of tea this week, so I will be present for this, even though this is another track I detest with all those confounded chicanes. Will not be bothering the front runners though, nowhere near Hristo's laptimes.  Shocked

Those are just reckless driving kind of lap times for qualifying though. Definitely can't afford to take such massive risks during the race, so I expect 54-55 in the race at best. You've always been better with the tyres management too, so anything can happen.  Grin

Here's the replay of that 52, using the setup I posted online:

https://we.tl/t-4gPXtE4stO

You have to switch to a different camera view though, because the in-car cam appears positioned too low on the replay.

53.7 with fuel for the race here, as i lost 4 tents at the end. But as H said - this was reckless driving and it won't happen during the race. Especially at the first couple of corners. Will upload the setup later.
