Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk Wednesday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: There are no start lights. Suggest the start countdown feature be turned on. Avoid going off at Knickerbrook. There is a hole in the surface that you may fall into. Also avoid the RH side of the track by the first tree on the RH side after the pit lane exit. There is an invisible obstacle there.

I think DD means the Crystal Palace race for Class A only cars.

Will have to miss this one; have practiced on the wrong Oulton   Lips Sealed

Would have been nice if the race description had mentioned it was the '60 version

Hmm, noticed towards the end of quali for race 2 that I hadn't changed position despite running a better time, found other cars were frozen.....

Left and tried to re-join, but I was not in time, shame as a repeat of the action in race 1 with Geoffers would have been great fun.

Grats to all.

Another disco for me, early lap2 of second race. It was fine through both praccy and qualy and all of race1  Huh
I wasn't expecting more than being last of the Cortina/Alfa runners, but the second race might have been more interesting with some Minis around.
Initially I couldn't get on with Oulton at all, but I was starting to like it.
This championship might be decided by who keeps taking the car that no one else takes.
Grats to all class winners.

Correct version was included in your series download. And why would I run a later version for a 1964 series?

Anyone object if I take the final results for Race 2 from moments before Geoffers disapearance?

Results and replay for Race 1 now posted. Race 2 will follow sometime tomorrow.

I have swopped my finishing position with Misnoimis as due to a stupid bit of desperate driving on my part, I ruined his finish. This does not effect anyone else's finishing position or points gained. Sorry Mike.

IMPORTANT

Drivers may change cars in any practice session but once the qualification session starts you may only leave to change skins, not car makes.

A bit of an ill fated evening for me. I chose the Falcon though it was probably not the best car for this track. It was fun to drive. I had two other Falcons for company. It all started very well. I found that even a slow driver in a fast car can put in a good time when the opposition are mostly driving slower cars.

I qualified in pol position somehow but lost it at the start. I was in a comfortable  second place for some ten laps, still within striking distance of the leader but then I noticed my tyres really started to go off. Probably due to me over-driving though the corners. I had to drop back and accept a second place as I was unable to maintain my previous pace. I noticed Tony was closing on me and could potentially be a problem. I was rather slow in passing and lapping a Jag and Tony closed right up on me. We swapped places a couple of times on the penultimate lap, me getting back in front but I felt I was really struggling for grip and I had to be a bit cautious in order to stay on the track. I thought I was home and dry in second place on the final lap although Tony was very close so I covered the inside of the last corner to make sure he had to take the risk of going wide and off if he tried an overtake. Unfortunately Tony also tried the inside so he ended up in my boot. Worst still I ended in the barrier and it took me a couple of minutes to extract myself. A racing incident. I'm not worried about it or my finishing position Tony. Apart from the result it was great fun. I must learn to look after my tyres better.

For race two I was the only Falcon in the race. I was slow in the corners but fast on the straights. I had Dimitar and Hrysto (I think) ferociously chasing me in an Alfa and a Lotus. Just when I thought I had my tactics sussed I managed(I think) to outbreak myself on the final corner going off the track and letting both past. I was slowly closing the gap and I think I would have caught them with one or two laps to go which would have made it interesting when we all got dumped. Not a very satisfying end to the evening.

Grats to winners and podiums and all. clap clap clap
