Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Car/Track download pack available by pm to WT

Track: Albi '67

Cars: Aston Martin DB4, Ferrari 250 GTO, Jaguar E-Type (You do need the download)

Car restrictions: One drive maximum per make/per night. You decide which race you enter which make in.

RACE ONE
Practice: ~19:25 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:25 (5 mins) Drivers must not leave qualifying to change car make. One attempt at a timed lap only
Race: 20:30 (12 laps)

RACE TWO & RACE THREE will follow, with same rules

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk Wednesday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

Is this like the AMSC series where we have to drive a different car in each of the three races?

Yes, it is. I have forgotten to add that to the OP. I'll do it now.

Jaguar #863 will not be used. It is no longer contained in the download.

If you downloaded before today (20/01/2021) you may have to delete the car.

In hindsight, the Race announcement wasn't clear about requiring the download for the cars in the series.

So just to confirm, you will need the download to take part in the Gislaved Cup.

Sorry for any confusion.

Just to be clear on the E-types, is it just the cars in the download we can use, not any of the default cars.

Yes, just the download cars please. If you try to use any others on the server you will get a "Car not Found" message and be booted.

Tony, I seem to have some of the Astons already, in a folder named 'Aston Martin DB4GT', and all the Ferraris + more already in a folder named 'Ferrari 250 GTO'.   Are the ones with overlapping numbers the same in the new download, or have they been modified ?

The Ferrari's are as the standard mod but with a reduced fuel tank (110 litres instead of 130 litres) but as these are short races it makes no difference which you use, the physics are the same. There are fewer available for selection.

The Aston you should use will have a weight of 1160kg.

The Jaguars you should use will have a weight of 940kg.

The modded cars have unique folders so will not impact on your original content.

There are big differences between some of the Jag's. Number 2 is around 2-3secs faster than number 820. I think you need to have "GC" not only on the menu but in the game server on the standings as well (802 has "GC" only when i choose a car, but not in the practice session).

I don't think so. All the cars of a make, share the same physics file.

I just love it when we have 3 races in one night. Even though i was hit in Race 1, the fun was great in all of the races. BTW i was more sorry that Coyote had to wait around 1 minute for me after i was having trouble to launch the car and find the right circuit direction  Grin

grats to the podiums for all 3 races.

So...................3 races, 3 different cars sounded OK.

i was actually enjoying each race despite a catalogue of gear change errors with the "H" shifter.  Undecided

The common fault with each car appears to be that none of them likes downshifts that miss out gears  scared For some inexplicable reason downshifting from 4th to 1st, (or 5th to 2nd in the Ferrari ) sends each car flying into the boondocks.

My question is............  Do you think this a fault with the game physics Huh or is there an outside chance that it is my poor driving. whistling
