GTR2 Dual Server plus Ballast Pack Test at Donington GP

Hopefully this will be the last test race before the season's scheduled start on Tuesday.

We will again be running 2 servers with a 26 player limit each on each, but this time with the experimental ballast pack and what we are hoping is the final (Sprint) event format. We would appreciate your assistance in this test in case there are any hidden problems with this combination of things - please could as many drivers as possible try to attend this one. Thanks for your help.

All forum members welcome.

Date: Sunday 29th October

Server 1Server 2
Practice 1: 8:15pm (10 mins)
Practice 2: 8:25pm (10 mins)
Qual 2: 8:35pm (20 mins)
Race: 21:00 (40 mins)
Practice 1: 8:16pm (9 mins)
Practice 2: 8:25pm (10 mins)
Qual 2: 8:35pm (25 mins)
Race: 21:05pm (35 mins)

Cars allowed: Any in the UKGTR Ballast Pack 2.0a1 (please download and install by unpacking in your GTR2 directory). This version of the pack will not be the final one used for league races; we will adjust the weights before the first official championship race.
Weather: Dry
Track: Donington GP
Race Start Time 14:00

Servers: Simracing.org.uk 1/2
Password: here

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the UKGTR Rules - especially the speed limiter starting procedure and the rules about in-game chat messages.

If this goes well, NGT Sprint (both Academy and 'permiere league') will start on Tuesday. Driver lists have now been published on the NGT Sprint and Academy pages showing who is full time and who is a reserve. Hopefully the GT Sprint and Endurance lists will follow no later than early next week, although Monday's priority will obviously be updating the ballast pack based on these final test races' findings.

Sorry, I have a N00B! Question.

Do I replace the gameData folder wirh this one or put all the individual files in set places.

Sorry, I have no experience in altering files like this, I would just like to make sure I dont foul things up.
AAh Dont worry, i have figured it out i think

The files go "on top of" the existing structure. No standard game files were harmed in the making of this pack. Wink

So by installing this, it wont affect me when trying to join a public server? how does the game know which car file to use?

That's the theory. The game knows which files to use based on the car classes - the cars in this pack have their own, specific UKGTR classes and don't overlap at all with the original game classes.

You have to unpack the contents of the Zip file for it to work. I believe in XP you can double click the Zip file, then copy the GamDate directory inside to your c:/gtr2 directory
