Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Car/Track download pack available by pm to WT

Track: Keimola

Cars: Aston Martin DB4, Ferrari 250 GTO, Jaguar E-Type

Car restrictions: One drive maximum per make/per night. You decide which race you enter which make in.

RACE ONE
Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (5 mins) Drivers must not leave qualifying to change car make. One attempt at a timed lap only
Race: 20:25 (14 laps)

RACE TWO & RACE THREE will follow, with same rules

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk Wednesday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

Did some practice and got down to a 24.1 with the Aston, but it's really difficult to do a perfect lap. Got to throw the car around quite a bit, especially under acceleration, to maintain the speed and direction, and yet also brake as late as possible.

Slowing down for T1 in particular a nightmare and I keep going off there so often. It's just as tricky as I remember it from GPL.

In terms of setup I had to go much more aggressive than usual, to reduce the understeer tendency, but it makes it tricky on throttle. Also, I'm not sure about the final drive. The shortest gears do work, but the 1 click longer option is good as well.

Going to do some practice in the other cars as well later today and upload all 3 setups in the online database.

Better than me Hristo, these cars are all playing silly buggers for me if I'm honest, and therefore I am not choosing to spend too long in them  Grin

The following times were on race fuel and after 10 laps in each.

1.24.5 for the Aston
1.24.9 for the Ferrari
1.25.1 in the Jaaaaag

I also have that issue at turn 1, it's a total pest. I have never truly got on with this track, and remember those tires with no affection at all having been a victim of them more than once or twice....

One of my favorite circuits so i will try to come tonight. So far after the first laps - 24.9 with the Aston but something very weird happen. I was at 25.2 and on the straight i was improving by 6 tents, and yet the timer stop at 24.9 without any reason. A bug maybe?

EDIT: OK, after many changes in search for better agility, corner entry and earlier acceleration, i am now at 24.2 with Aston - both setups uploaded if someone wants to take a look. The 24.2 one is called Aston Martin DB4 DD2.

EDIT 2: I upload the Ferrari setup as well. 24.5 but maybe in perfect lap 2 more tents are possible.

As for the first corner - i don't think late braking is a good idea. You don't want to open the corner too much as you will lose a lot on the first part and even if you get better acceleration for the straight the "damage" from the first part won't be cleared.

Results and replays now posted for Races 1 & 2.

I screwed up so Race 3 results are in a separate thread, sorry about that.

I messed up big time in this round, starting with less fuel than needed in 2 out of the 3 races. Had pace to fight for victory, but the fuel issue and some unforced mistakes made a mess of it.

Apologizes to Erling for the overtake in Q, but I was also on my one and only run and thought there was enough of a gap to grab the inside there.

Congrats to Dimitar, Daz, Geoffers and Fulvio for showcasing their pace and consistency!

Apologies to Erling for crashing his race 3 and to Geoff for one very late braking. I think i need to think about my driving.

and to Geoff for one very late braking.

Don't remember that DD, could not have been that drastic.

Happy with three 3rd places as I did not have the pace of the front three in any of the cars. Could possibly have won the last one but for a very lairy moment at the last turn which put me onto the grass. Also have to apologise to Erling & Fulvio for an unintentional divebomb on lap 1 of the final race, fortunately it was only me that ended up off the track.

Congrats to DD on three fine victories, you are rapidly becoming too fast for me.  I Am Not Worthy I Am Not Worthy

Maybe because i was able to catch the car but it was very tough. And this was not a bad anticipation just like the moment with Erling, in the late braking move i just lost focus, which is not cool.
