Meanwhile what do you think about making another lap on qualy when the game gives you a cut for losing time? Is this fair in your opinion because there were negative reaction on me about this. In my opinion it's not worthy to kill my chances for victory just because the game is not optimized well. What are your thoughts on this?
I think it's pretty much the same on all tracks, with the way track limits are defined. It may not make much sense or be fair, but that's how it works whenever you cross those limits, even if you lose time.
The problem with this is that I can use it to do a second flying lap on purpose if I mess up my first one, by intentionally cutting a corner and invalidate my lap time. Not saying you did it on purpose of course, but how is it any different than doing a second flying lap even if you don't get a cut? And because we only have 5 minutes of qualifying, there's usually not enough time to start again from the pits, so it does make a difference. You also get much better warmed up tyres on your second flying lap. I think it should be clearly defined as having just a single go at a flying lap, whatever happens.
As for my race, I messed up qualifying in 2 of the 3 races - in the first one and the third one. Starting further back in race 1 meant I had to overtake the guys ahead and push extra hard to catch Dimitar who was already a few seconds ahead. This caused excessive rear tyre wear and although I was catching him for a few laps, there was suddenly a drop in the rear grip available and so he started to pull away again, especially out of the slower corners.
In race 2 it was a shame that we couldn't have a close fight again as he made a false start, so I just had to avoid any serious mistakes and bring the car home.
In race 3 I was fortunate to overtake Dimitar on the start and then somehow manage to keep him behind, as he was extremely fast, especially near the end when I was again gradually struggling more and more with rear tyre wear. If it wasn't for his mistake with 1,5 laps to go, I'm not sure if I could have held onto first.
Congrats to Dimitar for the amazing and surprising performance in all 3 qualifying sessions, and also for his race pace. I did not expect him to get up to speed so quickly with so little testing before the races! Congrats to all the rest who finished as well! Always a fun experience doing this championship!
A question for Tony (or anyone who knows how this works) - how come only some of our fastest lap times are considered a new track record by the SROU system? And how come our best race times, despite being even quicker than qualifying, are not track records? Does it mean someone did an even quicker lap time in a car of this class? Where can I check all the class records for a given track?
