Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Car/Track download pack available by pm to WT

Track: Zandvoort '67

Cars: Aston Martin DB4, Ferrari 250 GTO, Jaguar E-Type

Car restrictions: One drive maximum per make/per night. You decide which race you enter which make in.

RACE ONE
Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (5 mins) Drivers must not leave qualifying to change car make. One attempt at a timed lap only
Race: 20:25 (10 laps)

RACE TWO & RACE THREE will follow, with same rules

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk Wednesday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Admin note, track glitch causes winner car to re-appear on track before finish line.

Did some laps in the Jaguar and Ferrari. Very difficult to nail a perfect lap. Did 32s in both cars, but it came much easier in the Jag. The Fezza is difficult to slow down for T1 and I expect the Aston to be even worse. Going to try that one tomorrow and upload all 3 setups once I'm done.

Overall I'm going for a more aggressive balance to reduce the understeer and carry more speed through the long fast corners. It makes accelerating out of the 2 slow ones a bit more tricky, but it's worth it.

Just finished a run in the Aston as well and it's by far the easiest car to drive around this track. In terms of pace, it's on about the same level as the Ferrari for me.

I uploaded my setups for all 3 cars in the online database, if anyone needs a starting point. You can also watch my test with the Jaguar and Ferrari from yesterday here:

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1181452114

I'm pretty much using the same lines as I would in GPL, sacrificing exits here and there to get a better position for the following corner, getting back on the power as early as possible. With the Aston it's even enjoyable, as it's such a predictable car compared to the other 2.

An otherwise fun evening ruined by a track bug.  Had 200m left before the finish and a certain 2nd place, when Hristo's car materializes right before my car, colliding with it instantly.  Have tried to make a video from the replay, but can't get the recording to work.

Normally I don't ask for adjustment of results, but there was simply nothing I could have done to avoid it, and bar a computer crash, my 2nd place was absolutely certain, so will make an exception in this case.

Looks like results for race 1 should be adjusted too for Geoffers - he suffered pretty much the same fate as me, apart from a better chance to see the car before hitting it.

Not worth bothering with to be honest, it caught me by surprise but I should really have missed it. Rest of the evening was a bit of a disaster so it doesn't matter.

In my opinion the right decision is to give Erling and Geoff their real results - 2nd and 4th. This is something not planned and normal so we must change the file with the results. EDIT: Both files.  Smiley

I would go with it, but if someone's internet fails on the last lap, I can't remember adjusting results
and I saw the cars parked on the straight and drove round them. Perhaps I had more time than someone
closer to the finish line. Not an easy call, but we have now set a precedent.
