On the approach to T1 on the first lap; Jari is following the train of vehicles into T1 at a distance of 5 or 6 car lengths.
Jos is at the tail end of the group in front and has braked to take T1 slightly wide as he is directly outside of Gavin Halls' Sierra.
Jari hits Jos on the inside of his rear bumper and half spins him at the Apex of the corner.

Jari had not achieved overlap at the turn in point.

Despite being a first corner incident I am only issuing a 1 position penalty as Jari DID wait to allow Jos to continue.

Moderator's Report

Kimi is at the rear of a group of 5 cars exiting the Chicane and approaching T2 - at the front Mark P and Jari are side by side and have to lift in order to take the turn cleanly.
This causes a concertina effect through the following cars with Mark (J), Jos and Kimi all making light nose to bumper contact despite attempting to avoid one another.

From Lorenzo's driving position it is not possible to clearly see that Mark and Jari are alongside approaching the corner, so he is likely not expecting the group to slow as much as they did.
However, Kimi's brake lights were visible for over a second before impact and Lorenzo didn't lift until just before contact, although he did swerve in an attempt to avoid it.

I feel that contact would be all-but unavoidable in this situation even if Lorenzo had slowed earlier, however the incident was made worse due to Lorenzo not lifting until too late.

The standard 2 position penalty has been reduced to 1 position to reflect the conditions, however Lorenzo still bares some avoidable fault here so a penalty is warranted.
As tires (and drivers) are still cold on the opening lap drivers should be cautious when following other vehicles closely, as they may not behave as expected.

I would be just curious to try Tim's setup for Merc. I always hated that car, and never been fast with it. Even if it's difficult to put together the perfect lap, BMW has a potential laptime in my hand of 55.2. Instead, after 50 laps with Merc, if I put together my best intermediate, I'm half a second slower in it. Merc has a good top speed, a good braking, a good cornering speed, but when it's time to record a timed lap it comes out I'm always slower in it. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
Did you mean 54.2?

You'll have to wait - I haven't made one yet!
Too busy pulling the G25 apart and trying out a new Flight stick.

I've had a quick go in the Caymans for tomorrow but aren't sure when I'll be trying these

Last wednesday was not my last race with the g25, I bought a g920, I just can't drive it and I think tomorrow I'll send it back to Amazon. Has anyone had the same experience as me?

Does it have an FF preset for AC? If not then it might be worth googling first to see if you can find recommended settings.
Otherwise I'm afraid I can't help as I haven't spent all my money yet!

Matteo has kindly suggested to use a software to modify the FFB settings and to generate a LUT file, i'll try to go in that way and watch what happen.

Now it is completely undrivable, no way to control the car properly.

I upload my setups, even if usually my teammates states they're rubbish Cheesy Don't be angry with me in this case. I never touch default suspention in any case, so you'll notice just slightly difference by default set.

For a better braking just follow what Tim said Wink

These are the links to my drive for download the single folder. Put these files inside the correct location. For example: open the "avus_dtm_Mercedes" and copy/paste those files into this directory: ...documents/Assetto Corsa/setups/ks_mercedes_190_evo2/avus dtm

ALFA setup: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1pP-KNnslYNHC-YiIRNyAtSqQRoMfdoFk?usp=sharing This is my actual setup for the race. Fabri suggested me to modify splitter from 1 to 2, but I had no time to try it. Do it by yourself and see if your laptime improve Smiley

I hope I can do this race chaps, but I'm not sure of it at the moment. It's possible that I'll have to make a looooong work videocall after dinner. In that case I won't have any chance to join these races. It depends in part on me, so I'll try to do my best to finish earlier, but can't assure nothing Sad

Not the most exciting track in the world, but that braking zone for the hairpin is something in these cars  Shocked Trying to drop 6 gears and braking without snaking from full chat  Tongue Then the Beemer suffers with a long first gear so is tardy out of it.
Got some laps in last night, but not enough, still off the pace  Sad

I'm not sure about that, Mark. It's obviously not too complex but, considering it's just a couple of straights, a chicane, hairpin and parabolic, it does offer a lot being quite technical and full of challenges... I quite like it.

Looking at the timing I think the first 8 or 9 individual times are within 0.6 of a sec - provided we can manage braking into T1 safely I think this round will be anything BUT boring Cheesy
