Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 180s

Jos runs wide entering T6 and ends up in the gravel and grass, despite reduction of throttle and an attempt to rejoin cleanly the bumpy nature of the infield results in his bouncing onto the track and into Lorenzo.
Lorenzo could do nothing to avoid Jos.
Kimi, Bob and Jari were also caught up as they were only able to choose to hit either barriers or spinning cars.
Commendably, those who had time to react chose the barriers.

As the nature of Jos' rejoin was caused by the infield surface this is considered to be a Racing Incident.

Server replay time: 217s

On the approach to T12 Bob puts his left-hand wheels onto the grass while exiting T11.
This situation prevents him from braking on time and he misses the braking point for T12.

Kimi is a few car lengths ahead and on the right-hand side of the track - Bob's trajectory takes him down the centre of the road and he attempts to slow; before turning left at the last moment to try and miss Kimi - this still results in a glancing contact that knocks Kimi slightly wide but Bob runs clean into the concrete wall bordering the track.

Racing Incident.

Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page

Welcome to Round 6 of the DTM season. This will be our one and only trip to a fictitious circuit for this season.
Some of you will know Horsma already, some will not - it is a very well created (But bumpy) circuit based in Finland. It is intentionally worn and with a poorly maintained racing surface - you have been warned Grin
Ballast will be applied to the following drivers as follows:

+20Kgs = Manteos
+15Kgs = FMG
+10Kgs = Fabri
+ 5Kgs = Jos

Due to it's hilly and bumpy nature I highly recommend you get some practice in prior to the event if you don't know this track/layout - there are some nasty surprises hidden over blind crests and at the end of constantly tightening corners.

When joining the server please ensure you select the correct car.

Password: see above

Practice: 19:30 (45 mins)
Qual: 20:15 (15 mins)
Race: 20:30  (2x 11 lap races)

Cars allowed:
Alfa 155 (+11Kg ballast, 10% (-42Hp) restrictor)
BMW M3 DTM (no handicap)
Ford Sierra R500 V3.03 (+20Kg Ballast, 45% restrictor (turbos don't respond the same as N/A before you ask!)
https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/ford-sierra-cosworth-rs500-pack.24027/
Mercedes 190E DTM (+6Kg ballast, 1% (-6.3Hp) restrictor).

Track: Horsma Full
https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/horsma-raceway.27713/

The first lap of each race will be moderated as far as turn 13 - any incidents that require moderation beyond that point will require a report to be raised in the normal fashion.

Live Timing: here (Only available in the week up to the race)

Time of Day Setting: 15:00
Weather: Clear
Start: Standing
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit-stops: Not required

Ballasts corrected and server is now up Smiley

I've raced here once or twice with SRO Mark, so some of our other regulars will have done the same - this may have been before you started racing there though as it was in one of the GPL series..

Installed the track and did a couple of laps in F50 and then a few more in Sierra.

This track is very well made but totally insane ! Designed by a deviant brain for sure !  Shocked  Grin

SRO F50 series guys, if you want to get nausea, just try the F50 on it.  laugh

I went a tenth quicker at Brands within 4 laps last night on my race setup - I'm being forced to drive less flamboyantly while my muscle re-learn how to drive Tongue

Don't worry, soon I'll adjust and go straight back to wildly over-driving everything Grin

what wheel did you go for Tim?  Got to say i love the DD wheel i'm using now (VRS), you just feel so much more through the wheel, ie tyre grip and track surface. I need to build up a collection of steering rims like Jos has now for use with my QR system for added immersion  Cool

Goldtop got his (new to him) G25 i sent him and is enjoying it already, and Stefans new to him Fanatec wheel is en-route into Europe for him too so its new wheels all round for some of the gang  Smiley

D/loaded the track last night but not had a chance to try it.

I've gone Thrustmaster and got one of these plus the Sparco Rally wheel (I need a round wheel for all my drifty shinanigans Wink )
https://shop.thrustmaster.com/en_gb/products-steering-wheels/ts-xw-servo-base.html
It's VERY smooth and quiet compared to my knackered old G25, but the different sized rim is messing up my reflexes a bit still.
Drifting with it feels wonderful though when done right, as does ACC based on the 2.5 hours I spent at Zolder in the GT4's last night (I was fully drifting T1 in the Wazarati towards the end wub ).

I wish Fanatec had bothered making their store work better post Brexit, as I could have built a wheel that uses my Momo from the track car (instant saving of a few hundred quid), but Fanatec would have been a 2 week+ wait and customs charges and extra courier cost on a system that was already several hundred pounds more.
I have to say that their complete lack of clarity on shopping from the UK and the many issues on their forums have put me right off buying from them.

Thrustmaster had my wheel with me from France in 2 working days with no paperwork in comparison..

I've also got some Load cell pedals on back order and will be ordering an SHH shifter once they allow orders again - I'm currently stuck with the TM wheel, G25, Rift, and button box all needing to be plugged in so I can drive. It's a right old mess of cables Roll Eyes

Btw...i'm entering in my new house next month, and having more space available i'm planning to build a driving setup, is anyone using a cockpit? Do you have any suggestions? No motion atm laugh

i upgraded mine during lockdown Lorenzo, bit the bullet after 12yrs using a Playseat, and went full ali-rig, TrackRacer TR160. Its a great setup, very sturdy and very adjustable. Over-priced like they all are though considering they are just packs of cut aluminium profile frame bolted together and a seat of your choosing.  Roll Eyes I bet they have a minimum 50-70% mark up!  Shocked

Yep, G25 arrived from MJ  Cool I'm now all set up and ready to start threatening the back of the grid again  Smiley

I quite liked the DFGT but the G25 is a noticeable improvement and if anything feels even slightly better than a G27 I had a while ago. Getting used to H shifting and clutch will be a challenge though, just doesn't seem natural in a sim after using paddles, although I seem to have been able to do it all these years in my old Saab laugh

What ffb settings were you using for your G25 Tim? And did you mod your pedals in any way?
