Yes, it's developed by russians Smiley

Also, just to throw a spanner in the works there is a small update for AC on Steam.
No idea what it's for Huh

Hopefully that won't mess things up further for tonight

Steam often throws tiny updates at random games you have installed when its updating some part of itself, and nothing on the game changes...  its a bit weird but has always been a thing.

On a further note, havn't even installed the track yet, but I will shortly and then gonna try to join tonight  Smiley

This was a good track for me, or perhaps for the Alfas.
I qualified 6th, and was up to 4th after the start. After that I had a quiet race, slowly falling behind top three and pulling away from Jos. I think my lead over Jos was around 3 seconds toward the end when I came up to lap Kimi. We had a contact, and I lost most of my advantage over Jos and had to sweat out the last few laps.
Second race was lining up to be a 1-2-3 by T1  Grin and it was, until Mateo and Fabri had a contact. I had to go around on the outside, Tim went through the inside and he got the lead. I had Kai and Jos on my tail, and I just got too excited. Kept downshifting too fast, out braking myself, generally driving much slower than in the first race. Eventually Kai and Jos got passed me, and then I spun accelerating out of T1, where I've never spun before. Then to make matters worse, I hit some obstacle on the inside of T1 I never even new existed there, and had to reverse out of it to get going. Lost about 11 seconds and went from 4th to 7th. From there I calmed down, started to hit my marks, and actually gained on Maxime towards the end, even though I was on meds, and he was on hard tires.
I think meds were actually better, as I didn't get them into red, and Tim even managed to get through the race on softs in the second race.
Congrats to Mateo and Tim on the wins.

And here some highlights from the second race, first from my perspective, and then some epic fighting for third by Mateo, Jos and Fabri.

Also, just to throw a spanner in the works there is a small update for AC on Steam.
No idea what it's for Huh

This might provide some insights, Tim:

GTPlanet: Assetto Corsa Update Adds Mysterious BMW M2 CS Folder, Ferrari 488 Esports Liveries.
https://www.gtplanet.net/assetto-corsa-update-adds-bmwm2-20200303/

A surprise update to the PC version of Assetto Corsa has landed today, and left something of a mystery in its wake.

Players logging into the game will find a small, 46MB update waiting for them. As you’d expect from an update that size, there’s not a lot of changes, but what has changed is on the interesting side.

First of all, the update brings along a variety of skins for the Ferrari 488 Challenge car. A closer look at the skins reveals “Ferrari Esports Series” branding on them, but they’re not from the 2020 Ferrari Hublot Esports Series last year. Instead they actually come from an event staged earlier today: the Ferrari Esports All Stars Racing Night.

This invitation-only celebrity esports event put together a pretty star-studded driver line-up which includes Valentino Rossi (hence the VR46 car) and Ferrari F1 Esports team drivers David Tonizza and Brendon Leigh. Oddly, Charles Leclerc was also on hand for the event, but up in the commentary booth rather than on the race track. You can catch up with the event, if you missed it, below:

Argruably more interesting is the second bit of the update, which has added a completely empty folder. While that might not sound like some particularly engaging, but it looks like it’s in preparation for a pretty exciting track machine. The folder is called “ks_bmw_m2cs_racing” and seem a clear indication that the BMW M2 CS Racing will be coming to the game soon.

In case you’re not familiar with it, the BMW M2 CS Racing is a $100,000, track-only version of the BMW M2 CS. It uses the same three-liter, twin-turbo, straight-six which can match the road car’s 444hp, but for racing purposes the owner can set the power to between 276hp and 360hp according to BOP. The car has its own class in the VLN Endurance Championship Nurburgring and Nurburgring 24 Hours.

Essentially the same car as the M2 CS, it boasts upgraded motorsports variants of the seven-speed DCT gearbox, dampers, exhaust and limited slip differential. There’s FIA homologated seats from Sabelt and six-point racing harnesses, an air-jack system and even the driver aids are tweaked for motorsport purposes.

For now, the relevant folder in the game is empty, but it strongly suggests there’ll be something to fill it coming along soon.

Great compilation, Syd. I'm processing the video from my angle and will publish it later. What an epic battle with the mafiosi... I should have played it harder on the final turn to avoid Matteo's overtake on the left but it was getting difficult holding both of them... Great fun nevertheless.

a totally rubbish night for me with a series of hardware problems and then car handling / driver inability issues  Roll Eyes

Had done no practise at all but thought i'd join early enough to get half hour practise in before qually, but no, AC's usual array of hardware recognition thought otherwise, bundled in with Rifts usual 'gifts' meant i spent the whole of practise restarting my pc and jumping in and out of the server  taz So qually became my practise  Cry  Good job there are only 4 corners to learn  Tongue  Despite that my car felt awful with poor balance and useless brakes for race 1. I still 'enjoyed' some fights for 8th - 10th for most of it but two oversteer spins on exits followed by yet another steering wheel failure put me out of race 1. (For some reason as soon as my car went to full lock the steering wheel borked out - i think it was pulling on the usb cable)

Race 2 i got the car feeling much better than race 1 but could still only fight for scraps down in 10th place. The beemers seemed to be having more of a mare here than the other cars with several spinners or problems on brakes. I enjoyed this car last time we ran it but i seem to be getting worse with it as the season goes on and now i dislike driving it  Huh  Embarrassed

A nice couple of races yesterday Smiley

Race 1

After a good start I lost the position by Tim, so I had to fight to take it back. For the second time in this champ the track was really cool for some battle against the Merc, as I was advantaged by my traction, but Tim got a better max speed. After some laps I had the better of him, building a bit of gap of approx 2 seconds with my rivals. Unfortunately some earlier mishift during our battle destroyed almost completely my gearbox, and I had no other chance than pull off the throttle and let Tim and Fabri go to save at least the 3rd place. I had to downshift worse than a first day driving licence holder, with some weird downshit from 5th to 1st gear at the first bend, and from 4th to 1st at the last one. When I crossed the line I had no more downshifting mistakes available, but at least I used my head once, avoiding to give the chance to reopen the champ to Tim with an almost sure retire.

Race 2

Race 2 started with another mistake, this time on the innocent Fabri. At T1 I had the feeling I braked too early, so I released a bit the pressure on the pedal and that was fatal for Fabri, as I adopeted the NOT so "brilliant disguise" of Roland Asch. Despite my stupid mistake, gladly the pack managed to avoid the "Alfa barricade" without many issues, but my race and that of Fabri were already compromised.

I had to try a comeback however, and it was great fun along the race to have some duels with the rest of the field! When I finally reached Jos I had some laps of proper DTM race with him, with some honest paint scraps and light door to door banging. It was difficult to avoid you in a couple of laps cause you were weaving at the exit of the chicane of the "wall of champion", but this time I was more cautious than usual, cause I wanted to avoid another incident as we had enough of it in the last period Wink
All in all a great race stained by that stupid 1st lap mistake Roll Eyes

Thanks for the fun chaps, see you for the last Wink

Challenging and intense couple of races at Norisring for me and the Sierra with some proper DTM racing as Matteo's points out.
I had already a fantastic battle with Kai in qualy. We were improving our times and separated by 1/100th of a second for most of the time. Running sometimes 2 tens faster for most of the track, all to lose the advantage and position in the last turn! How frustrating. The key in our battle was primarily about gaining a few meters that would prove critical to avoid Syd overtaking at the start of the race with his fast starts in the AWD almighty Alfa. Norisring was Alfa turf yesterday (with Tim's Merc permission of course).

Race 1 https://youtu.be/Casn5p50Vxg started as expected, gained a bit on Tim but he closed the door quickly and the battle with Kai was unleashed. T1 was surpringsingly clean but we touched at the end of the S-Kurve and were overtaken by Maxime that was quick to read what was developing. That was followed by a couple of very intense laps of DTM fighting with Kai. The beemer 4th gear is prodigious and I could see how it took off when engaging it... Kai made a mistake, I managed to catch up on Maxime and we, of course, both behaved in a team like fashion and off I went for Syd... But he wasn't giving up. His final scrumble with Kimi was a close call for me on P4 but I would have needed a couple of more laps (optimistically).

Race 2 https://youtu.be/VMszshprYs0 was conditioned by the Alfas' misunderstanding in T1 which delivered two fantastic 3-way battles on my race. First with Kai and Syd. We both eventually overtook Syd after a lot of hard work and as I was planning my subsequent battle with Kai, he had enough and just flew off in persecution of Tim. Syd's defense delayed me enought to make any attempt on Kai out of date. I couldn't relax though as I was aware of the increasingly red tinted mirror and I shifted quickly to embrace the fantastic battle with the two Alfas, lead by Matteo and his padawan Fabri. So much fun! Loved the couple or three times I managed to regain the position in pure DTM moves and the respectful touching and battling for position. Regret the lack of agressivity in that final left turn when Matteo overtook for good and the battle with Fabri unleashed, but that would have brutally forced Matteo to maintain his old age and not allow his younger self to prevail with the potential crashing which would have given Fabri the free way. It was  a terrific battle although I'd say the AWDs had the advantage on this track and Matteo very skillfully made the most of it. I was hoping he would have gear issues as in the first race but none surfaced in time. Fabri's final attempts were also quite bold and it was good the race was coming to an end. His desperate final attempt didin't prevent us from keeping positions and the race ended well.  Plenty of fun.

Congrats to all podiums, very well deserved and see you at Nurburing in a couple of weeks.

Tim, btw, I've heard there are some problems on the GP track at Nurburgring (something related with the tarmac I believe). The track administrator has offered us the Nordchleife circuit instead. I think it is worth giving it a thought. I just leave it there...

AC's usual array of hardware recognition thought otherwise

AC recognises hardware according to it's ID on the USB bus - this is a live list that is basically dependant on the order you plug your peripherals in - even plugging something unrelated like your rift or a phone that is extra can bork things for you.

Thanks to that and the crap drivers for my rift I have a very specific order and timing for plugging Rift, wheel, pedals and button box in.
I have no doubt that when my SHH shifter turns up and I can finally unplug the G25 completely the entirety of my current profiles will go out the window Roll Eyes

As for BMW pace I think Kai can put a pretty good argument together that the Bimmer was just fine Grin Speaking as the guy who was trying to hold him off in race 2 I can assure you it has no speed deficit here!

yeah i had no doubts there is nowt wrong with the Beemer, its more my own setup in using it i think as i dont remember disliking it before. Maybe i've gone down the wrong path setup wise or hardware wise through the season. I also had my ffb far too strong for it last night (problem of switching constantly between different sims!) so dragging it around the hairpins became hard work but a good workout  sweatdrop
